Sections

A section is a full-width area of a page, such as a grid of products, a slideshow or a newsletter signup. Most sections hold cards, and each card holds blocks; see How Seventh is built.

Where to find it: open a page in the theme editor, then select Add section in the left sidebar.

A preset is a starting point in Add section: a section with cards, blocks and settings already filled in. Several presets can use the same section. After you add one, the editor shows the section's own name (for example Custom grid or Multicolumn), and you can change everything the preset set up. The settings most sections share are on General section styling.

• Product comparison section: a comparison table of chosen products.
• Rich text grid section: text and media in rich text cards.
• Scrolling cards section: cards that scroll past a fixed media or text area.
• Scrolling text section: a moving banner of text, images or a countdown.
• Shop the look: product slider section: an image with hotspots next to a product slider.
• Shop the look: product list section: an image or video next to a list of products.
• Vertical slider section: full-screen or fixed-height slides with text, media and buttons.

Preset pages say what the preset adds and link the section that holds its settings:

• Contact form section, FAQ section, Logo list section, Table section and Text columns section: presets of the Multicolumn section.
• Countdown section, Image section, Image comparison section, Link cards section, Media gallery section, Newsletter section, Promotions section, Shop the look section, Testimonials section and Video section: presets of the Custom grid section.
