Seventh presets

Seventh presets: compare Seventh, Nora, Oak and Orim, see what each one changes, and learn how to switch preset without losing content.

Applies to: Seventh 4.0.0 and later. Added in: Seventh 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-12 against Seventh 4.0.0.

Seventh comes in four presets: Seventh, Nora, Oak and Orim. This page compares them, explains what a preset changes and shows how to switch from one to another.

Where to find it: Theme settings → Theme style

Compare the presets

All four presets install the same theme files: the same sections, blocks, settings and templates. A preset only selects one of the four theme styles. The theme style sets the fonts, the colors and the values of some Theme settings.

The fonts are the values of each theme style in Seventh 4.0.0. Each preset page lists the other settings it changes.

Theme style and Theme Store preset

  • A Theme Store preset is the version of Seventh you install from the Shopify Theme Store, for example Seventh or Nora. Every preset installs the same theme files and selects its own theme style.
  • A theme style is a set of Theme settings values bundled in the theme. Every Seventh install contains all four theme styles, and you can switch between them in the theme editor.

Choosing a theme style in your theme gives the same Theme settings as installing that preset.

What switching style changes

Switching style is a Shopify theme editor feature. It replaces your current Theme settings with the values saved in the new style.

  • It changes the fonts, the colors and color schemes, and the product card, badge, swatch, cart and other Theme settings groups.
  • In Seventh, the styles also set the Announcement bars and Header sections. The Orim style also sets the password page and gift card page sections.
  • It does not change the sections and blocks you added to your page templates, or the content of your products and pages.

Switching style overwrites the Theme settings you changed yourself, for example your colors and fonts. Duplicate the theme in Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes before you switch, so you can go back.

Switch to another preset

Duplicate your theme

Open Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes. On your Seventh theme, open the … menu and select Duplicate. Work on the copy.

Open Theme style

Open the copy in the theme editor and open Theme settings → Theme style. Theme settings is the gear icon in the editor sidebar.

Choose the style

Select Seventh, Nora, Oak or Orim. The preview shows the new fonts and colors.

Save and publish

Select Save. Check the main pages, then publish the copy from Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes.

You do not need to install another preset from the Shopify Theme Store. Every preset installs the same theme files, so choosing the theme style is enough.

Templates in every preset

Every preset includes the same templates: Home page, Products → Default product, Products → compare, Products → quick-view, Collections → Default collection, Collections list, Search, Cart, Blogs → Default blog, Blog posts → Default blog post, Pages → Default page, Pages → contact, Pages → faq, 404 page, Password and Gift card.

Installing a preset does not add the products, images or extra templates of its demo store on the Shopify Theme Store. To build a page like one in a demo, create a template in the theme editor and add sections to it.

Why does my store look different from the Seventh or Nora preset?

Because Seventh 4.0.0 swapped the contents of the Seventh and Nora theme styles. All Theme settings values were swapped, not only the fonts.

  • Since Seventh 4.0.0, the Seventh theme style uses Poppins and the Nora theme style uses DM Sans.
  • Up to Seventh 3.0.0 it was the reverse: the Seventh style used DM Sans and the Nora style used Poppins.

A theme update keeps your Theme settings. So a store that installed the Seventh or Nora preset before Seventh 4.0.0 keeps the older look after it updates. To get the 4.0.0 look, choose the theme style again (see Switch to another preset). This overwrites the Theme settings you changed yourself.
