Blocks in Seventh: the theme blocks you can add inside sections and cards, what each one is for, and the page that documents it.

Blocks are the single content elements of Seventh, such as a Heading, a Text, a Button or an Image. You add them inside sections and cards with Add block in the theme editor.

Which block do I use?
Seventh 4.0.0 has 22 theme blocks that you can add with Add block inside any section, card or block that accepts theme blocks. Other blocks exist only inside one section or card; they are documented on that section or card page.

| Divider | Divider block | A horizontal line between blocks. |
| Empty space | Empty space block | Extra vertical space between blocks. |
| Heading | Heading block | Titles, with heading fonts and an HTML tag for search engines. |
| Icon | Icon block | One icon, from the theme set or uploaded, with an optional link. |
| Image | Image block | One image, with an optional link or zoom. |
| Menu | Menu block | A list of links from a Shopify menu, for example in the footer. |
| Newsletter form | Newsletter form block | Email signups for your marketing list. |
| Popup button | Popup button block | A button that opens a Shopify page in a modal, for example a size guide. |
| Product item | Product item block | One product as a compact row, to make a card or image shoppable. |
| Social icons | Social icons block | Links to your social profiles from Theme settings → Social. |
| Star rating | Star rating block | Decorative stars with a rating you type, for testimonials. |
| Table | Table block | Specifications, size charts and feature lists. |
| Testimonial author | Testimonial author block | The name, subtitle and photo under a testimonial. |

| Video | Video block | A YouTube, Vimeo or uploaded video. |

How do blocks, cards and sections fit together?
- A section holds cards or blocks.
- A card holds blocks.
- A Content group holds blocks inside a card.
Product, collection and article cards accept extra blocks that read their content from that product, collection or article, for example Product price or Article title. Those blocks are documented on the card pages. See How Seventh is built: sections, cards and blocks.
