Custom HTML / Liquid block

The Custom HTML / Liquid block in Seventh runs your own HTML or Liquid code inside a section or card.

Applies to: Seventh 4.0.0 and later. Added in: Seventh 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-12 against Seventh 4.0.0.

The Custom HTML / Liquid block places your own HTML or Liquid code inside a section or card, for example an embed code from another service.

Where to find it: select Add block inside a section or card in the theme editor, then choose Custom HTML / Liquid.

This is only for advanced users! Do not use if you don't handle web development, because it can break your store or theme.

Common use cases

  • Embeds and widgets: a small piece of code that a service gives you to paste, for example a map embed, a booking widget or a review badge.
  • Custom layouts that no block covers.

If the service has a Shopify app with an app block, add the app block instead. App blocks are maintained by the app and keep working after theme updates.

Tips for success

  • Keep the HTML minimal and valid. Code in this block runs on your storefront as it is: invalid HTML or a broken script can break the layout of the page or stop other features from working.
  • Test the result on mobile devices.
  • Krown support does not provide help with custom code.

Why does my custom code show nothing?

Because the code has an error or needs a script that is not loaded. Check that the HTML is complete (every tag is closed) and that the embed code is copied in full from the service. If the code shows but the styles look off, wrap it in an element with your own class and style that class.

Krown support cannot debug custom code; the service that gave you the code can. To change how Seventh itself looks or works with code, see Custom work and code changes.
