Use this page when the theme settings cannot make the change you want. It explains what Krown support helps with, what needs custom work, and how to keep changes when you update.
What Krown support helps with
Krown support helps you use Seventh as it ships on the Shopify Theme Store:
- How to set up a feature with the theme settings, sections and blocks.
- Theme bugs: something that does not work as these docs describe. Krown fixes confirmed bugs in a theme update.
- Small visual tweaks, such as a color, a font size or a spacing value, with a few lines of CSS for Theme settings → Custom CSS.
Contact Krown support at contact.krownthemes.com.
What Krown support does not do
Krown support does not provide custom code work. This includes:
- New features, sections or blocks that Seventh does not have.
- JavaScript or Liquid code, and edits to theme files.
- Large layout changes, or a chain of changes that adds up to a redesign.
- Fixing code that an app, a developer or you added to the theme.
- Logging in to your store to make changes.
When a request needs custom work, support says so and points you to the options below.
Can I get CSS for a small change?
Yes, for small visual changes. Krown support can give you a few lines of CSS for Theme settings → Custom CSS or a section's own Custom CSS field. Check first whether a setting already does it. See Custom CSS and code.
Who can build a custom feature for my store?
A Shopify developer or agency. Krown recommends Vevol Media, a Europe-based agency that specializes in Shopify development and theme customization. See the Shopify Basics guide Custom work. You can also find developers through Shopify's own partner directory.
Can I edit the theme files myself?
Yes, at your own risk. Shopify lets you edit the theme code in Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes → … → Edit code. Krown support does not help with code edits, and edits can stop working or block an update. Duplicate the theme before you edit it, and keep a copy of every change. See the Shopify Basics guide Edit the theme code.
Are my customizations kept when I update Seventh?
Settings are. Code edits are kept only when they do not conflict with the new version. Custom CSS fields and Custom HTML / Liquid sections and blocks are settings, so Shopify carries them over. See Update Seventh and Custom CSS and code.
How do I tell whether a problem comes from custom code or an app?
Test the same page in a fresh copy of Seventh. Check these in order:
- Add the latest Seventh version from the Shopify Theme Store as a new theme and preview the page. If the problem does not happen there, it comes from a code edit or an app in your theme.
- Turn off apps that add blocks, embeds or scripts, one at a time, and reload the page.
- Compare with the Seventh demo store on the Shopify Theme Store.
- Test in another browser and on another device.
See the Shopify Basics guide Troubleshoot store issues: first steps.
Who fixes a problem caused by an app?
The app developer. Krown support can confirm that a problem does not happen without the app, but it cannot change app code. Contact the app's support with a link to the page where it happens.
Still not working?
If none of these answers fit, contact Krown support. Include your store URL or a preview link, what you want to change, and the page where it should happen.
