Troubleshoot the header, menus and drawers
Troubleshoot the Seventh header, menus and drawers: transparent header issues, missing mega menus, account icon and search results.

Use this page when the announcement bar, the Header section, the menus, the drawers or the footer do not show or behave as expected. Each question gives the cause first, then the fix, and links the page with all settings.
Where to find the settings: the Announcement bars and Header sections at the top of the theme editor sidebar (on every page), the Drawers group and the Footer group.
Why is my announcement bar not showing?
Because the block's visibility excludes the page you are viewing. Check Visibility, Show on selected collections and Show on selected products on each block in the Announcement bars section; selected products or collections override Visibility. See Announcement bars section.
How do I hide the announcement bar?
Remove or hide every block in the Announcement bars section; with no visible block, Seventh shows no bar. To hide it only on some pages, set Visibility on the block. See Header area.
Can I show a different announcement bar per market?
No. Seventh does not support a separate announcement bar per market. Translate the text with Shopify's Translate & Adapt app so each language gets its own wording. See Announcement bars section.
Why is my header not transparent?
Because Style is not Floating: Transparent, or Replace the transparent header with the standard one in specific pages shows the standard header on this page. A transparent header also gets its background when it becomes sticky or is hovered. See Header section.
Why does my translucent header not turn opaque when I scroll?
Because Make header fully opaque only on hover is on, which is the default. Turn it off in the Header section to make the header opaque as soon as the customer scrolls. See Header section.
Why did my menu turn into a menu icon?
Because the classic menu does not fit. Seventh shows the menu icon on screens narrower than 1024 px, and when the links need more space than the main row has. Shorten the menu labels or lower their Text size. Menu Style set to Drawer also shows the icon on every screen size. See Header section.
Why don't I see the top row on my phone?
Because Seventh hides the header top row on screens narrower than 768 px. Put links that customers need on mobile into the main menu or the navigation drawer. See Header section.
Why don't the language or currency selectors appear?
Because Shopify decides which languages and currencies exist. A selector shows only when the store has more than one published language, or more than one country or region in its markets. Manage them in Shopify admin → Settings → Languages and Settings → Markets. See Header section.
Why does the account icon not show?
Because customer accounts are turned off in Shopify. Show account needs customer accounts on in Shopify admin → Settings → Customer accounts. See Header section.
Why are breadcrumbs not showing?
Because breadcrumbs never show on the home page, or because the Breadcrumbs block is hidden in Header → Breadcrumbs (the eye icon in the theme editor sidebar). To show the collection in product breadcrumbs, turn on Theme settings → SEO & Other settings → Improve product breadcrumb navigation. See Header section.
Why does my mega menu not show the submenus of a menu?
Because a Menu block inside a mega menu shows only the top-level links of its menu. Create a separate Shopify menu for each column of the mega menu. See Header menus and mega menus.
Why is my mega menu cut off or crowded?
Because the panel has more columns than fit the screen width. Lower Desktop columns, choose a smaller Grid gap, or split the links over two mega menus. See Header menus and mega menus.
Why can't customers open a parent menu link in the navigation drawer?
Because a link with child links opens its submenu in the drawer instead of its own page. Add the parent page again as the first child link, for example "All dresses" under "Dresses". See Navigation drawer section.
Why do the promotion cards not show in navigation drawer submenus?
Because the Promotions cards block shows its cards only on the first level of the navigation drawer, not inside submenus. See Navigation drawer section.
Why do images in the navigation drawer look blurred in the theme editor?
Because the theme editor loads a smaller preview image. Save, then check the drawer on the storefront. See Navigation drawer section.
Why does the search icon open the search page instead of the search drawer?
Because Shopify's predictive search is not available for the store's language. Seventh opens the search drawer only when Shopify offers predictive search. See Search drawer section.
How do I change which search results show first?
Shopify controls the search results and their order, not Seventh. Use Shopify's Search & Discovery app for synonyms and product boosts. See Predictive search theme settings.
Why are the payment icons not showing in the footer?
Because of one of these:
- Show payment icons is off.
- Only show the custom icons is on.
- The store has no payment methods turned on in Shopify admin → Settings → Payments.
To add an icon Shopify does not provide, upload it in Icon 1 to Icon 6 in Footer group → Copyright bar → Custom icons. See Footer group.
How do I remove "Powered by Shopify" from the footer?
Turn off Show Shopify notice in Footer group → Copyright bar → Content. See Footer group.
Can I show a scrollbar in the drawers?
Yes, on desktop. Turn on Theme settings → SEO & Other settings → Show drawers scrollbar (on desktop). See SEO and other theme settings.
