Predictive search theme settings

The Predictive search theme settings choose which extra product fields the live search results match while a customer types in the search drawer.

By default, predictive search looks through the product title, type, variant title and vendor. Turn on Search by SKU, Search by barcode or Search by tag to match those fields too.

Do these settings change the search results page?Copy Anchor Link

No. They change only the live results that appear while the customer types. When the customer submits the search, the search results page uses Shopify's standard search.

Who controls the order of the search results?Copy Anchor Link

Shopify controls search matching and the order of results, not Seventh. Seventh sends the typed words and the fields to search, and shows what Shopify returns. To add synonyms or change which products rank first, use Shopify's Search & Discovery app. See Search & Discovery.
