Applies to: Seventh 4.0.0 and later. Added in: Seventh 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-12 against Seventh 4.0.0.

The Countdown section shows a timer that counts down to a date, next to a short offer text, on any page of the store. It is a preset of the Custom grid section, with two cards: one with the offer text and one with a Countdown block.

Where to find it: select Add section in the theme editor, then choose Countdown in the Products category.

What the section containsCopy Anchor Link

The preset adds a section header and 2 cards side by side (Cards size Large, one per row on mobile, Cards alignment Stretch):

• The first card holds a Caption block ("Limited time offer!"), a Heading block ("Save 25% on Bestsellers") and a Text block with a "Shop the sale" link.
• The second card, aligned right, holds a Countdown block.
• Both cards use the color scheme Scheme 3.

Where the settings areCopy Anchor Link

After you add it, the Countdown section is a Custom grid section, with no settings of its own:

• Layout: see Custom grid section.
• Section design: see General section styling.
• The timer, including Hide block if countdown is over: see Countdown block.

Does the countdown change my prices or end a sale?Copy Anchor Link

No. Seventh does not support starting or ending a discount with the countdown. The Countdown block only shows the time left. Create and schedule the discount in Shopify admin → Discounts, with the same end date as the countdown.

Can I show the countdown in the announcement bar?Copy Anchor Link

Yes. The Announcement bars section has its own countdown block. See Announcement bars section.
