Apps section
The Apps section in Seventh holds app blocks from installed Shopify apps, with the standard section design around them.
Applies to: Seventh 4.0.0 and later. Added in: Seventh 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-12 against Seventh 4.0.0.
The Apps section holds app blocks from the apps installed on your store, such as reviews, upsells or Instagram feeds, on any page. It gives those blocks the standard Seventh section frame: color scheme, padding and an optional background.
Where to find it: select Add section in the theme editor, then choose Apps.
App blocks in the section
- The section holds app blocks only, and is empty until you add one.
- After you add the section, select Add block inside it to see the app blocks your installed apps provide.
- It has no section header. Add a Heading in another section above it if you need a title.
The app controls the content and settings of its own block, not Seventh:
- To change what an app block shows, use the block's settings in the theme editor or the app's own admin.
- For problems inside an app block, contact the app developer.
Why do I see no blocks when I select Add block in the Apps section?
No installed app provides an app block for sections. Only apps that support Shopify theme app extensions add app blocks. Check the app's documentation, or ask the app developer whether it offers an app block or an app embed. App embeds are turned on in the App embeds panel of the theme editor, not in the Apps section.
Can I place an app block inside another section?
Yes, in sections, cards and blocks that accept app blocks. They list app blocks under Add block. For example:
- the Multicolumn section and the Column block,
- the section header and the Content group block,
- the Card and the Promo card,
- the Product information area of the product page.
Use the Apps section when the app block should be a full section of its own.
