The Gift card page shows a gift card to the person who received it. Customers open it from the link in the gift card email that Shopify sends.
Where to find it: in the theme editor, open the template picker and select Gift card. The template has one section, Gift card.
Page content
From top to bottom, the Gift card page shows:
- Your logo from Logo image, or the store name when no logo is set. It links to the home page.
- The heading "Here's your gift card!" and the value. When part of the card is used, it shows the remaining balance, for example "$40 left".
- "Use this code at checkout to redeem your gift card", with the expiry date when the card has one. A disabled or expired card says "This is not a valid gift card", and an expired card also shows its expiry date.
- The gift card code and a QR code that the store can scan at a point of sale.
- Start shopping and Print buttons, and an Add to Apple Wallet button when Shopify offers a wallet pass for the card.
The page colors come from Theme settings → Colors → Default color scheme.
Gift cards are managed by Shopify
Shopify controls gift cards, not Seventh. Seventh only designs the page that shows the card. Shopify handles:
- creating gift card products and issuing cards
- the gift card email
- balances and expiry dates
- redemption at checkout
See Shopify's gift card documentation.
Changing the text
The texts come from the theme's language file, not from section settings. Change them in Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes → … → Edit default theme content, and search for "gift card". See Shopify's guide to editing theme content.
How do I let customers send a gift card to someone else?
Turn on Show recipient information form for gift card products in the Buy buttons block of the product page. Customers then enter the recipient's email, name, a message and a send date when they buy a gift card product. Shopify sends the email with the link to the Gift card page. See Product variants and buy buttons blocks.
