Shoppable videos section
The Shoppable videos section of Local shows short videos, UGC style, each linked to a product customers can buy.
Applies to: Local 4.2.1 and later. Added in: Local 4.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Local 4.2.1.
The Shoppable videos section shows a slider of short, vertical videos, in the style of social media clips. Each video is linked to a product: its title, price and vendor show under the video, with an optional quick buy button.
Where to find it: Online Store → Themes → Customize → Add section → Shoppable videos
Content
- Desktop layout sets 3, 4 or 5 (default) videos per row on desktop; Mobile layout sets 1 (default) or 2 on phones. The videos are always a slider.
- Media aspect ratio sets the shape of the videos: Short (4:3), Square (1:1), Tall (5:6), Taller (2:3) or Tallest (9:16, default, the format of phone videos).
- Show video player controls shows the player controls (play, pause, volume) on the videos. The videos always start by themselves, muted, and loop.
- Show vendor shows the product vendor above the price.
- Enable quick buy adds a small add to cart button when the product is in stock.
Custom card design sets the colors of the cards (Background, Text, Border, Shadow, Hide border, Hide shadow). The heading, section design, SEO and visibility settings are the standard ones, see General section styling.
Video blocks
Add one Video block per video.
- Video file is a video uploaded to Shopify. Use short clips, a few seconds long, so the page stays fast.
- Select product is the product shown under the video.
- Fallback image shows on phones where the video cannot autoplay, so the card is never empty.
Can I use YouTube or Instagram videos?
No. The Video block takes only videos hosted by Shopify, uploaded in the Video file picker. Download your clip and upload it to Shopify. For a YouTube or Vimeo video, use the Video section.

Where to find it: Shoppable videos → Heading
Heading (text field, default: "Shoppable videos").
Subheading (text field, default: "Showcase your best products").
Text alignment (dropdown, default: Left). Options: Left, Center.
Show section link (checkbox, default: off): Adds a text link next to the section heading. Fill Link text and Link too.
Link text (text field). Shown only when Show section link is on.
Link (link). Shown only when Show section link is on and Link text is set.
Open link in a new window (checkbox, default: off). Shown only when Link is set and Show section link is on and Link text is set.

Where to find it: Shoppable videos → Content
Desktop layout (dropdown, default: 5 columns): Sets how many videos show per row on desktop. The videos are always a slider. Options: 3 columns, 4 columns, 5 columns.
Mobile layout (dropdown, default: 1 column). Options: 1 column, 2 columns.
Media aspect ratio (dropdown, default: Tallest (9:16)): Sets the shape of the videos. Tallest (9:16) matches videos filmed on a phone. Options: Short (4:3), Square (1:1), Tall (5:6), Taller (2:3), Tallest (9:16).
Show video player controls (checkbox, default: off): Shows the player controls on the videos. The videos always start by themselves, muted, and loop.
Show vendor (checkbox, default: on).
Enable quick buy (checkbox, default: off): Adds a small add to cart button under each in-stock product. Products with several variants open the Quick view popup.

Background (color, default: transparent): Sets the card background. Transparent uses Theme settings → Colors → Cards.
Text (color, default: transparent).
Border (color, default: transparent).
Shadow (color, default: transparent).
Hide border (checkbox, default: off): Removes the border of the cards.
Hide shadow (checkbox, default: off).

Where to find it: Shoppable videos → Section design
Background color (color, default: transparent): Colors the whole section behind the cards. With a background color the section also gets space above and below its content.
Background gradient (gradient).
Heading text color (color, default: transparent): Sets the color of the text outside the cards, mostly the section heading.
Descrease top margin (checkbox, default: off): Sets the space above the section to the grid gap of Theme settings → Layout → Horizontal space, instead of the full space between sections. Shown only when Remove top margin is off.
Remove top margin (checkbox, default: off): Removes the space above the section, so it touches the section before it. Shown only when Descrease top margin is off.

Where to find it: Shoppable videos → SEO
Heading tag (dropdown, default: H2): Sets the HTML tag of the heading for search engines. It does not change how the heading looks. Options: H1, H2, H3, H4, span.
Shoppable videos section: Visibility
Where to find it: Shoppable videos → Visibility
Section visibility (dropdown, default: Show always): Shows the section on every screen, only below 768 px (mobile) or only from 768 px (desktop, tablets included). A hidden section is still in the page. Options: Show always, Show only on mobile, Show only on desktop.
Video block
Where to find it: Shoppable videos → Add block → Video
Video file (video): Sets the video of the card. Only videos hosted by Shopify are accepted.
Select product (product picker).
Fallback image (image): Shows on phones where the video cannot autoplay, so the card is not empty.
