Contact form section

The Contact form section of Local adds a contact form with name, email, phone and subject fields and up to two contact info boxes.

Applies to: Local 4.2.1 and later. Added in: Local 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Local 4.2.1.

The Contact form section adds a contact form to any page, with name, email and message fields, optional phone and subject fields, and up to two boxes of contact information next to it.

Where to find it: Online Store → Themes → Customize → Add section → Contact form

Form fields

  • Heading is the title above the form (default "Drop us a line"). Its tag is under SEO → Heading tag.
  • The form always has Name, Email and Message fields. Email is required.
  • Show phone adds a phone number field.
  • Show subject adds a subject field.

After sending, the customer sees a confirmation message above the form. The field names and the message are theme texts you can change in Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes → … → Edit default theme content.

Contact info blocks

Add up to two Contact info blocks. They sit next to the form on desktop and below it on phones.

  • Title is the heading of the box (default "Contact information"), with its own Heading tag.
  • Content is rich text: your address, opening hours, phone number or links to your FAQ.

Where do contact form messages go?

To your store's email inbox. Shopify sends every message to the store email set in Shopify admin → Settings → General. The theme only displays the form; sending is handled by Shopify.

When a customer sends you a message, you get it at the store email address set in Shopify admin → Settings → General, not in the theme.

Why am I not receiving contact form messages?

Usually because they go to another address or to spam. Check the store email in Shopify admin → Settings → General, and your spam folder. Messages from the form come from Shopify, so add Shopify's sender to your safe senders list. The theme cannot send the messages anywhere else.
