Products set section
The Products set section of Combine sells up to four products as one set that customers add to the cart with one button.
Applies to: Combine 4.2.0 and later. Added in: Combine 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Combine 4.2.0.
The Products set section sells a fixed kit of 1 to 4 products. Customers choose a variant of each product and add the whole set to the cart with one button. The saving comes from a Shopify discount you create to match the set.
Where to find it: Online Store → Themes → Customize → Add section → Products set (category Products).

How customers buy a set
- Each product shows its variant options. Products without variants count as chosen.
- The set button reads "Choose products first" until an available variant is chosen for every product. It then reads "Add all to cart".
- The button adds 1 of each product to the cart in one go. The choices are then reset.
- On mobile, the button sits in a bar that stays at the bottom of the screen, with the Mobile design title and subtitle.
The variant options follow Theme settings → Product card → Product variants (dropdown or blocks, color swatches). Unavailable variants are hidden and no variant is selected in advance. See Color swatches.
Content
- Select products sets the products of the set, up to 4. The grid has 2, 3 or 4 columns, by the number of products.
- Style sets the look of the product cards: Primary shows plain cards, Secondary shows filled cards.
- Secondary style color sets the card background of the Secondary style. Transparent keeps the default.
Make sure that the products you select have at least a variant in stock, otherwise the customer will not be able to add the kit to their cart.
Discount
- Discount type chooses how the saving is applied. Automatic discount relies on your automatic discount in Shopify admin. Discount code adds the code in Discount code to the cart after the set (since Combine 4.2.0).
- Discount code is the code, written exactly as in Shopify admin → Discounts.
The section only adds the products. Create the discount for the same products, with a minimum quantity of items equal to the number of products in the set.
Mobile design
These settings style the sticky button bar on mobile. On desktop, only the button shows, under the products.
- Title is the bold line of the bar (default "Build your set").
- Subtitle is the second line, for example "Save 25% when buying 3 items". It is text only: it does not create the discount.
- Background color and Text color set the colors of the bar and its button.
Blocks
The blocks set what each product card of the set shows, in the order of the blocks. They work like the blocks of every product grid in Combine: see Product grid blocks. The variant options are always there; they are not a block.
Price
- Shows the product price, with the compare-at price when the product is on sale.
Title
- Shows the product title, linked to the product page.
Description
- Shows the start of the product description, without formatting.
- Number of words sets the length, from 5 to 40 words.
- Show link to product page adds a "View product details" link under the text.
Vendor
- Shows the product vendor.
Rating
- Shows the star rating from your reviews app, chosen in Theme settings → Product card → Product rating.
Icons list
- Shows up to three icons with labels, from the product metafields set in Theme settings → Product card → Dynamic icons list. See Dynamic icons list.
Dynamic text
- Shows the value of one product metafield, for example "Vegan" or "Best seller".
- Label metafield is the metafield, typed as
namespace.key(defaultcustom.product_text). Products without a value show nothing. - Text color is Primary (the text color) or Secondary (lighter).
- Text transform (uppercase) writes the text in capitals.
Product link
- Adds an outline button to the product page.
- Button label is the button text (default "View product").
Setting up the set
Add the section
In the theme editor, select Add section and choose Products set.
Pick the products
Add 1 to 4 products in Select products.
Choose the discount type
Keep Discount type on Automatic discount, or select Discount code and type the code in Discount code.
Create the matching Shopify discount
Create an Amount off products discount in Shopify admin → Discounts for the same products, with a minimum quantity of items equal to the number of products. The detailed steps are on Discounts and bundles.
Why is the "Add to cart" button of the set disabled?
Because a product of the set has no variant chosen yet. The button reads "Choose products first" until an available variant is chosen for every product. When a product is sold out in every variant, the set can never be completed: replace that product in Select products or restock it.
Can a set have more than 4 products?
No. Select products takes at most 4 products. For a bigger kit, use the Products bundle section with Select products and a minimum of up to 6 items.

Where to find it: Products set → Section heading
The Products set section uses the standard Section heading settings, listed in General section styling. Not available in this section: Button label and Button link.
Heading (text field, default: "Products set").
Subheading (formatted text, default: "Choose multiple products to combine into a set").
Heading size (dropdown, default: Regular). Options: Regular, Large.
Text alignment (dropdown, default: One row: Left). Options: One row: Left, Two rows: Left, Two rows: Center.
These settings differ from the standard ones or exist only here:

Products set section: Content
Where to find it: Products set → Content
Select products (products picker, up to 4): Sets the products of the set, 1 to 4. Every product needs at least one variant in stock, otherwise the set can never be added to the cart. The grid shows 2, 3 or 4 columns, by the number of products.
Style (dropdown, default: Primary): Sets the look of the product cards: Primary shows plain cards, Secondary shows filled cards with rounded corners. Options: Primary, Secondary.
Secondary style color (color, default: transparent): Sets the card background of the Secondary style. Transparent keeps the theme's default card background.
Products set section: Discount
Where to find it: Products set → Discount
To create discounts, go to your discounts settings in Shopify admin.
This theme supports both automatic and discount code discounts. See Discounts and bundles.
Discount type (dropdown, default: Automatic discount): Sets how the saving is applied: Automatic discount relies on an automatic discount in Shopify admin; Discount code adds the code below to the cart right after the set is added, keeping codes already in the cart. Options: Automatic discount, Discount code.
Discount code (text field): The Shopify discount code added to the cart after the set, written exactly as in Shopify admin → Discounts. An invalid or not qualifying code gives no saving, but the products stay in the cart. Shown only when Discount type is Discount code.
Products set section: Mobile design
Where to find it: Products set → Mobile design
Controls the design of the call to action button on mobile devices.
Title (text field, default: "Build your set"): Sets the bold line of the sticky button bar on mobile.
Subtitle (text field): Sets the second line of the sticky button bar on mobile, for example the saving. It is text only and does not create a discount.
Background color (color, default: #3E3E3E): Sets the background of the set button bar and the button text color.
Text color (color, default: #F5F5F5): Sets the text color of the bar and the button background.
Products set section: Gutter
Where to find it: Products set → Gutter
The Products set section uses the standard Gutter settings, listed in General section styling. Not available in this section: Remove bottom margin.
Decrease top margin (checkbox, default: off).
Products set section: SEO
Where to find it: Products set → SEO
The Products set section uses the standard SEO settings, listed in General section styling.
Heading tag (dropdown, default: H2): Specify heading level to help search engines index the structure of your page. Options: H1, H2, H3, H4, span.
Price block
Where to find it: Products set → Add block → Price
One Price block per section.
The Price block has no settings in Combine 4.2.0.
Title block
Where to find it: Products set → Add block → Title
One Title block per section.
The Title block has no settings in Combine 4.2.0.
Description block
Where to find it: Products set → Add block → Description
One Description block per section.
Number of words (slider 5 to 40, default: 15): Sets how many words of the product description the Description block shows, without formatting.
Show link to product page (checkbox, default: on): Adds a "View product details" link to the product page under the description.
Vendor block
Where to find it: Products set → Add block → Vendor
One Vendor block per section.
The Vendor block has no settings in Combine 4.2.0.
Rating block
Where to find it: Products set → Add block → Rating
One Rating block per section.
The Rating block has no settings in Combine 4.2.0.
Icons list block
Where to find it: Products set → Add block → Icons list
One Icons list block per section.
This theme allows you to add custom product icons through dynamic content. See Dynamic icons list.
Dynamic text block
Where to find it: Products set → Add block → Dynamic text
One Dynamic text block per section.
Label metafield (text field, default: "custom.product_text"): The product metafield the Dynamic text block shows, typed as namespace.key (for example custom.product_text). Products without a value show nothing.
Text color (dropdown, default: Secondary): Sets the Dynamic text color: Primary uses the text color, Secondary a lighter shade. Options: Primary, Secondary.
Text transform (uppercase) (checkbox, default: off): Writes the Dynamic text in capitals.
Product link block
Where to find it: Products set → Add block → Product link
One Product link block per section.
Button label (text field, default: "View product"): Sets the text of the Product link button, which opens the product page.
