Products bundle section
The Products bundle section of Combine lets customers build their own bundle from a collection or product list, for a Shopify discount.
Applies to: Combine 4.2.0 and later. Added in: Combine 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Combine 4.2.0.
The Products bundle section lets customers build their own bundle. They pick products from a grid into a bundle panel, then add the whole bundle to the cart. The saving comes from a Shopify discount you create to match the section.
Where to find it: Online Store → Themes → Customize → Add section → Products bundle (category Products).

How customers build a bundle
- Each product in the grid shows its variant options and an Add to bundle button. The button then reads "Added to bundle".
- The panel "Bundle contents" shows one slot per item. The Add to cart button of the panel works only when every slot is full.
- The x on a slot empties it again.
- After the bundle is added to the cart, the panel is emptied.
- On mobile, the panel is a bar at the bottom of the screen that customers open and close.
The variant options follow Theme settings → Product card → Product variants (dropdown or blocks, color swatches). Unavailable variants are hidden and no variant is selected in advance. See Color swatches.
Content
- Select collection fills the grid with the products of one collection.
- Maximum number of products shown limits how many products of that collection appear, from 3 to 96.
- Select products shows up to 48 products you pick instead. It overrides the collection.
- Allow each product to be added only once to the bundle (on by default) greys out a product once it is in the bundle. Turn it off to let customers add the same product to several slots, for example 3 of the same candle.
- Mobile layout shows the grid in 1 or 2 columns on mobile.
Discount panel
- Discount title is the line under "Bundle contents", for example "Add 3 items to save $20". It is text only: it does not create the discount.
- Minimum items required to get a discount sets the number of slots, from 2 to 6. Use the same number as the minimum quantity of your Shopify discount.
- Discount type chooses how the saving is applied. Automatic discount relies on your automatic discount in Shopify admin. Discount code adds the code in Discount code to the cart after the bundle (since Combine 4.2.0).
- Allow unlimited items adds a new slot each time a customer adds a product to a full panel. The minimum stays the same, and customers can remove the extra slots.
- Background color and Text color set the panel colors.
- Have discount panel opened by default on mobile. (on by default) shows the panel open when the page loads on mobile.
Without Allow unlimited items, the other products of the grid are greyed out once the panel is full. Customers remove a product from a slot to choose another one.
Blocks
The blocks set what each product card in the grid shows, in the order of the blocks. They work like the blocks of every product grid in Combine: see Product grid blocks. The variant options and the Add to bundle button are always there; they are not a block.
Price
- Shows the product price, with the compare-at price when the product is on sale.
Title
- Shows the product title, linked to the product page.
Description
- Shows the start of the product description, without formatting.
- Number of words sets the length, from 5 to 40 words.
- Show link to product page adds a "View product details" link under the text.
Vendor
- Shows the product vendor.
Rating
- Shows the star rating from your reviews app, chosen in Theme settings → Product card → Product rating.
Icons list
- Shows up to three icons with labels, from the product metafields set in Theme settings → Product card → Dynamic icons list. See Dynamic icons list.
Dynamic text
- Shows the value of one product metafield, for example "Vegan" or "Best seller".
- Label metafield is the metafield, typed as
namespace.key(defaultcustom.product_text). Products without a value show nothing. - Text color is Primary (the text color) or Secondary (lighter).
- Text transform (uppercase) writes the text in capitals.
Setting up the bundle
Add the section
In the theme editor, select Add section and choose Products bundle.
Choose the products
Select a collection in Select collection, or pick products in Select products.
Set the bundle size and the discount type
Set Minimum items required to get a discount, then Discount type (and Discount code for a code).
Create the matching Shopify discount
Create an Amount off products discount in Shopify admin → Discounts for the same collection or products, with the same minimum quantity of items. The detailed steps are on Discounts and bundles.
Why does the bundle not apply a discount?
Because the Shopify discount does not match the section. Check that:
- The discount applies to the bundle's collection (or the same products).
- Its minimum quantity of items equals Minimum items required to get a discount.
- With Discount type set to Discount code, Discount code holds exactly the code from Shopify admin. More causes are on Troubleshoot bundles and discounts.
Why can customers not add another product to the bundle?
Because the panel is full. Every slot holds a product, and Allow unlimited items is off. Turn on Allow unlimited items, or raise Minimum items required to get a discount (and the discount's minimum with it).

Accepts these blocks: Price, Title, Description, Vendor, Rating, Icons list and Dynamic text.
Products bundle section: Section heading
Where to find it: Products bundle → Section heading
The Products bundle section uses the standard Section heading settings, listed in General section styling.
Heading (text field, default: "Products bundle").
Subheading (formatted text, default: "Share your best offers").
Heading size (dropdown, default: Regular). Options: Regular, Large.
Text alignment (dropdown, default: One row: Left). Options: One row: Left, Two rows: Left, Two rows: Center.
Button label (text field).
Button link (link). Shown only when Button label is set.
These settings differ from the standard ones or exist only here:
Heading (text field, default: "Products bundle").
Products bundle section: Content
Where to find it: Products bundle → Content
Select collection (collection picker): Sets the collection whose products fill the bundle grid. Ignored when Select products has products.
Maximum number of products shown (slider 3 to 96, step 3, default: 12): Sets how many products of the collection the grid shows.
Select products (products picker, up to 48): Sets the products customers can pick from, up to 48, instead of the collection.
Allow each product to be added only once to the bundle (checkbox, default: on): Greys out a product once it is in the bundle, so every slot holds a different product. Turn it off to let customers add the same product to several slots.
Mobile layout (dropdown, default: 1 column): Sets the number of product columns of the grid on mobile. Options: 1 column, 2 columns.
Products bundle section: Discount panel
Where to find it: Products bundle → Discount panel
To create discounts, go to your discounts settings in Shopify admin.
This theme supports both automatic and discount code discounts. See Discounts and bundles.
Discount title (text field, default: "Add 2 items to get a discount"): Sets the line shown under the panel title "Bundle contents". It is text only and does not create a discount.
Minimum items required to get a discount (slider 2 to 6, default: 2): Sets the number of slots in the bundle panel. The bundle can be added to the cart only when every slot is full. Use the same number as the minimum quantity of items of your Shopify discount.
Discount type (dropdown, default: Automatic discount): Sets how the saving is applied: Automatic discount relies on an automatic discount in Shopify admin; Discount code adds the code below to the cart right after the bundle is added, keeping codes already in the cart. Options: Automatic discount, Discount code.
Discount code (text field): The Shopify discount code added to the cart after the bundle, written exactly as in Shopify admin → Discounts. An invalid or not qualifying code gives no saving, but the products stay in the cart. Shown only when Discount type is Discount code.
Allow unlimited items (checkbox, default: off): Adds a new slot each time a product is added to a full panel, so customers can add more items than the minimum. Without it, the grid is greyed out once the panel is full.
Background color (color, default: #3E3E3E): Sets the background color of the bundle panel.
Text color (color, default: #F5F5F5): Sets the text color of the bundle panel and its borders.
Have discount panel opened by default on mobile. (checkbox, default: on): Shows the bundle panel open when the page loads on mobile, where the panel is a bar at the bottom of the screen.
Products bundle section: Gutter
Where to find it: Products bundle → Gutter
The Products bundle section uses the standard Gutter settings, listed in General section styling. Not available in this section: Remove bottom margin.
Decrease top margin (checkbox, default: off).
Products bundle section: SEO
Where to find it: Products bundle → SEO
The Products bundle section uses the standard SEO settings, listed in General section styling.
Heading tag (dropdown, default: H2): Specify heading level to help search engines index the structure of your page. Options: H1, H2, H3, H4, span.
Price block
Where to find it: Products bundle → Add block → Price
One Price block per section.
The Price block has no settings in Combine 4.2.0.
Title block
Where to find it: Products bundle → Add block → Title
One Title block per section.
The Title block has no settings in Combine 4.2.0.
Description block
Where to find it: Products bundle → Add block → Description
One Description block per section.
Number of words (slider 5 to 40, default: 15): Sets how many words of the product description the Description block shows, without formatting.
Show link to product page (checkbox, default: on): Adds a "View product details" link to the product page under the description.
Vendor block
Where to find it: Products bundle → Add block → Vendor
One Vendor block per section.
The Vendor block has no settings in Combine 4.2.0.
Rating block
Where to find it: Products bundle → Add block → Rating
One Rating block per section.
The Rating block has no settings in Combine 4.2.0.
Icons list block
Where to find it: Products bundle → Add block → Icons list
One Icons list block per section.
This theme allows you to add custom product icons through dynamic content. See Dynamic icons list.
Dynamic text block
Where to find it: Products bundle → Add block → Dynamic text
One Dynamic text block per section.
Label metafield (text field, default: "custom.product_text"): The product metafield the Dynamic text block shows, typed as namespace.key (for example custom.product_text). Products without a value show nothing.
Text color (dropdown, default: Secondary): Sets the Dynamic text color: Primary uses the text color, Secondary a lighter shade. Options: Primary, Secondary.
Text transform (uppercase) (checkbox, default: off): Writes the Dynamic text in capitals.
