Table section
The Table section of Combine shows specification tables of text and checkmarks, in one or more columns, from four presets.
Applies to: Combine 4.2.0 and later. Added in: Combine 4.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Combine 4.2.0.
The Table section shows specification tables: rows of text and checkmarks under a heading, one or more tables side by side. Use it for materials and care, shipping facts, or a comparison of plans or product versions.
Where to find it: in the theme editor, select Add section and choose one of the four presets, Table: features list (v2), Table: features list (v1), Table: complex (v2) or Table: complex (v1). The four are the same section with different starting tables.
Presets
| Preset | What it starts with |
|---|---|
| Table: features list (v2) | Two tables side by side, each a list of label and value rows under a dark heading. |
| Table: features list (v1) | Two tables side by side, each with two columns (label and value) on a light gray background. |
| Table: complex (v2) | One table with three columns (label, value, checkmark) and the heading in its own column. |
| Table: complex (v1) | One comparison table with four columns (Standard, Plus, Premium) and checkmarks. |
Pick the preset closest to what you need; every setting can be changed afterwards.
Setting up a specification table
Add the section from a preset
Select Add section and choose the Table preset closest to your table.
Set the number of columns
Select the Table block and set Blocks layout under Layout to 1 column, 2 columns, 3 columns or 4 columns.
Fill the cells row by row
Inside the Table block, each Text or Checkmark block is one cell. Cells fill the table from left to right, then the next row. With 3 columns, blocks 1 to 3 are the first row, 4 to 6 the second, and so on.
Add or remove cells
Select Add block inside the Table block to add a Text cell or a Checkmark cell. Add a whole row at a time, as many cells as Blocks layout has columns, or the rows shift.
Name the table
Type the table title in Text under Heading, for example "Specifications", and choose its Style.
Changing Blocks layout does not move your cells: they flow again from left to right in the new number of columns. Check every row after you change it.
Layout
Desktop layout sets how many Table blocks sit side by side on desktop: 1 column (the default), 2 columns or 3 columns. On smaller screens the tables stack.
The section heading, colors, margins and heading tag work as described in General section styling. The Table section's Heading tag also offers H5 and H6.
Table blocks
Table
Each Table block is one table.
- Text under Heading is the table title. Text size sets its size, from Extra small to Extra large. Background color and Text color color the title row.
- Style places the title: Full width (a row across the top, the default) or Column (a column on the left of the rows).
- Blocks layout under Layout sets the columns of the table, 1 to 4 (default 3).
- Remove inline borders removes the lines between the cells of a row. Remove heading borders appears then and removes the line under the title.
- Under Style, Text size sets the size of the cells, Blocks background color and Blocks text color color the cells, Checkmark color colors the checkmarks and Border radius rounds the corners of the table, 0 to 30 px (default 10 px).
Text
Text is the content of one cell. It takes bold, italic, links and lists. Leave it empty for an empty cell, for example the top-left corner of a comparison table.
Checkmark
A cell with a checkmark icon. It has no settings; its color is the table's Checkmark color.
Can I show different specifications for each product?
Yes, with dynamic sources. In a Table section on the product template, connect each Text cell to a product metafield, so every product shows its own values. See Using dynamic sources for unique product pages.
How do I compare products side by side?
For a fixed comparison, build it with the Table: complex (v1) preset. To compare real products with their prices and variants, use the Product comparison section.
