Sections that are part of a page template and cannot be added (Product page, Collection page, Cart, Search results, Main blog, Article and others) are documented in the page templates, for example Product page and Collection page. The Header, Footer, drawers, Newsletter, Popovers and Rotating badges are part of the section groups; see How Borders is built.
Why is a section missing from Add section?
The template or section group you are adding to does not accept it. For example:
- Announcement bar and the header Scrolling text appear only in the Header group.
- Exit intent popup, Age verification and Go to top appear only in the Overlay group.
- Collection description and Collection navigation appear only in collection templates.
- Some sections, such as Featured collection and Shop the look, are not offered on the password page.
What do most sections have in common?
Most sections share a section heading, a Section design group with a Color scheme and Hide section bottom border, and often an Inner content design group. These shared settings are explained once in General section styling.
