Collection list section
The Collection list section of Borders lists chosen collections as large text links, with optional images and product counts.
Applies to: Borders 3.1.0 and later. Added in: Borders 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Borders 3.1.0.
The Collection list section lists the collections you choose as large text links, with an optional product count. On desktop, the collection's image appears next to the mouse pointer when a customer hovers a title; on smaller screens it shows as a small thumbnail next to the title.
Where to find it: select Add section in the theme editor, then choose Collection list.
Layout
- Show image turns the collection images on (default: off). On desktop the image follows the mouse while it is over a collection title. Below 1024 px wide it is an 82 px thumbnail beside the title.
- Hide image on mobile hides the thumbnails on phones (below 475 px).
- Show products number adds the number of products after each title, for example "08".
- Media shape rounds two or all corners of the images into a half circle (default: Fully rounded).
- Hide borders (Inner content design) removes the lines between the collections.
Typography
- Text font uses the Body or the Headings font for the titles.
- Title size sets Regular, Large or Extra large.
- Mobile text size changes the size on phones only.
- Text transform (uppercase) writes the titles in capital letters (default: on).
- The hover effect of the titles follows Theme settings → Animations → Mouse over effect.

Collection blocks
Add one Collection block per collection, up to 18.
- Collection chooses the collection. Its title is the link text.
- Image replaces the collection's own image in this section, for example a lifestyle shot. Without it, the collection image from Shopify admin is used.
Why don't my collection images show?
Show image is off by default. Turn it on, then make sure each collection has an image in Shopify admin → Products → Collections, or set Image on the block. On desktop the image appears only while the mouse is over a title.
Can I show the collections as image tiles?
Not with this section: it lists collections as text links. For image tiles, use a Rich blocks section with one block per collection, or the Collections list page for all collections.

Heading (text box, default: "Collection list").
Heading tag (dropdown, default: H2): Specify heading level to help search engines index the structure of your page. Options: H1, H2, H3, H4, span.
Hide heading border (checkbox, default: off).

Show image (checkbox, default: off): Shows the collection images: on desktop next to the mouse pointer while it is over a title, below 1024 px as an 82 px thumbnail beside the title.
Hide image on mobile (checkbox, default: off): Hides the collection thumbnails on screens narrower than 475 px.
Show products number (checkbox, default: on): Shows the number of products after each collection title, with a leading zero below 10.
Media shape (dropdown, default: Fully rounded): Rounds two corners (top, right, bottom or left side) or all corners of the collection images into a half circle. Options: None, Top rounded, Right rounded, Bottom rounded, Left rounded, Fully rounded.
