Blog posts section
The Blog posts section of Borders shows the latest posts of a blog as a grid, list or slider, with image, tags, date, author and excerpt.
Applies to: Borders 3.1.0 and later. Added in: Borders 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Borders 3.1.0.
The Blog posts section shows the latest posts of one blog on any page, as a grid, a list or a slider, with the featured image, tags, date, author, comment count and an excerpt.
Where to find it: select Add section in the theme editor, then choose Blog posts.
Content
- Blog chooses the blog whose posts show. Without a blog, the section shows placeholder posts in the editor.
- Number of posts sets how many of the latest posts show, 1 to 12 (default 4).
- Show link to blog page is in the editor, but in Borders 3.1.0 it does not change the section.
Style
- Show featured image shows each post's featured image.
- Media shape rounds two or all corners of the images into a half circle (default: Fully rounded).
- Style sets the layout: Grid (2 columns, 1 on phones), List (one post per row) or Slider (customers swipe or use the arrows).
- Hide borders (Inner content design) removes the lines between the posts.
Details
- Show tags, Show date, Show comments (the number of comments) and Show author add those details to each post.
- Show excerpt adds the post's excerpt, or the first 30 words of its content when it has none.
The Section heading, Section footer and Section design settings are the shared ones: see General section styling.
Why does the section show placeholder posts?
No Blog is selected, or the blog has no published posts yet. Choose a blog in Blog and publish at least one post in Shopify admin → Content → Blog posts.
How do I add a "View all" button?
Use the section footer: type a Button label, for example "All stories", and choose your blog in Button link. In Borders 3.1.0, Show link to blog page does not add a link.
