Shoppable videos section
The Shoppable videos section of Borders shows short videos in a row, each linked to a product with quick buy.
Applies to: Borders 3.1.0 and later. Added in: Borders 3.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Borders 3.1.0.
The Shoppable videos section shows short videos side by side, like social media clips. Under each video sits the product it shows: a small image, the price and the title. Customers can open the product or buy it from the video card.
Where to find it: Online Store → Themes → Customize → Add section → Shoppable videos
Layout
- The videos are always a slider. Desktop layout sets 3, 4 or 5 videos per screen on desktop. Smaller screens show 3, 2 or 1.
- Minimum aspect ratio sets the shape of the video cards, from Short (4:3) to Tallest (9:16), the default for vertical phone videos. Videos are cropped to fill the card.
- Videos start muted and loop. Show video player controls adds the player controls, so customers can pause them or turn on the sound.
- Show vendor shows the product's vendor above the price.
- Enable quick buy adds a buy button to the cards of products that are in stock. Single-variant products go straight to the cart; products with variants open the quick buy card to choose a variant.
- Hide borders and Remove border radius (Inner content design) change the look of the cards.
Video blocks
Each Video block is one card:
- Video is the clip. Upload it in the block, or pick a video from Shopify admin → Content → Files.
- Select product links the card to a product. The whole card opens the product page.
- Image is shown instead of the video on mobile devices where autoplay is off.
Setting up shoppable videos
Prepare the videos
Make short vertical clips (9:16), a few seconds each. Small files load faster.
Add the section
Select Add section → Shoppable videos.
Add one block per video
Select Add block → Video. Upload or choose the Video, pick the product in Select product and add a fallback Image.
Set the layout
Choose Desktop layout and Minimum aspect ratio to match your clips.
Turn on quick buy
Turn on Enable quick buy so customers can add the product without leaving the page.
Why does a video show an image on my phone?
The phone has autoplay turned off, for example in low power mode. Borders then shows the block's Image. Add an image to every Video block so these customers do not see an empty card.
Why is there no quick buy button on a video?
The product is sold out, or Enable quick buy is off. The button shows only for products that are in stock.

Heading (text box, default: "Shoppable videos").
Heading tag (dropdown, default: H2): Specify heading level to help search engines index the structure of your page. Options: H1, H2, H3, H4, span.
Hide heading border (checkbox, default: off).

Where to find it: Shoppable videos → Layout
Desktop layout (dropdown, default: 5 columns): Sets how many video cards show per screen on desktop. Smaller screens show 3, 2 or 1. Options: 3 columns, 4 columns, 5 columns.
Minimum aspect ratio (dropdown, default: Tallest (9:16)): Sets the shape of the video cards. Videos are cropped to fill them. Options: Short (4:3), Square (1:1), Tall (5:6), Taller (2:3), Tallest (9:16).
Show video player controls (checkbox, default: off): Adds the player controls to the videos, so customers can pause them or turn on the sound.
Show vendor (checkbox, default: on).
Enable quick buy (checkbox, default: off): Adds a buy button to cards of in-stock products: single-variant products go to the cart, others open the quick buy card.

Color scheme (color scheme, default: scheme_1).
Hide section bottom border (checkbox, default: off).

Where to find it: Shoppable videos → Inner content design
Hide borders (checkbox, default: off): Removes the lines between the video cards.
Remove border radius (checkbox, default: off).
Video block
Where to find it: Shoppable videos → Add block → Video
Video (video): Sets the clip of this card. It plays muted in a loop.
Select product (product picker): Sets the product shown under the video. The whole card links to it.
Image (image): Shown instead of the video on mobile devices where autoplay is off.
