Apps section
The Apps section of Borders holds app blocks from your installed apps, with an optional section heading and no padding option.
Applies to: Borders 3.1.0 and later. Added in: Borders 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Borders 3.1.0.
The Apps section holds app blocks from the apps you installed, such as reviews, upsells or forms, so they sit in the Borders grid like any other section. You can add it to templates, the Header group and the Footer group.
Where to find it: select Add section in the theme editor, then choose Apps.
App blocks
- Select the Apps section, then Add block: the list shows the app blocks of your installed apps.
- The blocks show one under the other, in the order of the sidebar.
- An app block appears only when the app offers app blocks. Apps that work only as app embeds are turned on in the theme editor under App embeds, not here.
- What each block shows and its settings come from the app. For help with them, contact the app developer.
Section heading
- Heading adds a title above the apps, styled by Section headings and footers theme settings.
- Heading tag sets the HTML level of that title for search engines.
- Hide heading border removes the line under the heading.
Section design
- Remove inner padding removes the padding around the app blocks, so they fill the section edge to edge. Use it when the app adds its own spacing.
- Hide section bottom border removes the line between this section and the next one.
The Apps section has no Color scheme: it uses the store's Default color scheme from Colors theme settings.
Why does my app block not appear in the Apps section?
The app does not offer an app block, or it offers it only for some templates. Check the app's own instructions: many apps add a block only to the Product page, or work as an app embed. On product pages you can also add app blocks directly to the Product page section.
Can I add the Apps section to the header?
Yes. The Apps section can go in the Header group and the Footer group, but not in the Drawers or Overlay groups. See How Borders is built.
