Testimonials section
The Testimonials section of Borders shows customer quotes with author name and title, in a grid or slider.
Applies to: Borders 3.1.0 and later. Added in: Borders 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Borders 3.1.0.
The Testimonials section shows quotes from your customers, each with the author's name and title, in a slider or a grid. Long quotes are shortened, with a Read more button that opens the full text in a modal.
Where to find it: select Add section in the theme editor, then choose Testimonials.
Layout
- Desktop layout shows 1, 2 or 3 testimonials side by side. The 2-column layout becomes 1 column below 768 px; the 3-column layout becomes 2 columns below 1024 px and 1 column below 475 px.
- Layout sets Slider (customers swipe or use the arrows) or Grid (all quotes at once, in rows).
- Hide borders (Inner content design) removes the lines between the testimonials.
- Button label and Button link under Section footer add a button below the section, for example to a reviews page.

Typography
- Truncate testimonial (words) sets how many words of each quote show, 5 to 100 (default 10). A longer quote ends in "..." and gets a Read more button that opens the whole quote in a modal.
- Text font uses the Body or the Headings font; Text size sets Small, Regular, Large or Extra large.
- Mobile text size changes the size on phones only, and Line height the space between lines.
Testimonial blocks
Add one Testimonial block per quote.
- Quote is the testimonial text, with bold, italic and links.
- Author name is shown in bold under the quote.
- Author title is shown next to it, for example "Customer" or a city.
Why is the author name missing under my testimonial?
Author title is empty. Borders shows the author line only when both the name and the title are filled in. Add a title, for example "Customer", or the city of the author.
Why are my testimonials cut off?
Truncate testimonial (words) shortens every quote to that many words, 10 by default. Customers can open the full quote with Read more. Raise the limit, up to 100 words, to show more text directly.
Can I show reviews from my review app here?
No. The Testimonials section shows the quotes you type in its blocks. Review apps add their own widgets; ratings on product cards come from Product card theme settings.

Heading (text box, default: "Testimonials").
Heading tag (dropdown, default: H2): Specify heading level to help search engines index the structure of your page. Options: H1, H2, H3, H4, span.
Hide heading border (checkbox, default: off).

Where to find it: Testimonials → Layout
Desktop layout (dropdown, default: 2 columns): Sets how many testimonials sit side by side on desktop. 2 columns become 1 below 768 px; 3 columns become 2 below 1024 px and 1 below 475 px. Options: 1 column, 2 columns, 3 columns.

Author name (text field, default: "Author"): Shown in bold under the quote, only when Author title is also filled in.
Author title (text field, default: "Customer"): Shown next to the author name, for example Customer or a city. The author line shows only when both name and title are filled in.
Quote (rich text, default: "Add customer reviews and testimonials to showcase your store's happy customers.").
