Email signup section
The Email signup section adds a newsletter form to Split pages that saves customers to your Shopify customer list, with a heading and text.
Applies to: Split 5.1.0 and later. Added in: Split 4.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Split 5.1.0.
The Email signup section adds a newsletter form to a page: a heading, a short text and an email field. Each address is saved as a customer in your Shopify admin, tagged newsletter and subscribed to email marketing.
Where to find it: select Add section in the theme editor, then choose Email signup.
Where the section can go
- Add it to any page template, or to the Footer group so it shows above the footer on every page. All three presets already have one in the Footer group, above the Footer.
- The section is a full-width box at least half a screen tall, with its content centered.
- Since Split 4.0.0, Email signup is a section of its own, separate from the footer.
Blocks
Each block can be added once. A section without blocks shows nothing on the storefront.
Heading
- Heading is the title, for example "Subscribe to our newsletter".
- Heading tag sets the HTML level for search engines; it does not change the size.
Text
- Text is a short formatted text, for example what customers get by subscribing.
Email form
Adds the email field and the "Submit" button. After sending, the form shows "Thanks for subscribing!". No settings.
Reorder the blocks in the theme editor sidebar to put the text above or below the form.
Colors
Custom colors → Background and Text replace the theme colors for this section only. The button takes the text color. Leave both transparent to keep the theme colors.
Where do the email addresses go?
To your Shopify customer list. Shopify creates a customer with the email, tags it newsletter and marks it as subscribed to email marketing. Find them in Shopify admin → Customers. To send them to another email service, connect it to Shopify; see Mailchimp integration.
Can I add a name field?
No. Split's Email signup form has only the email field. For a name or other fields, use a newsletter app with an app block in the Apps section, or the Contact Form section for messages.
How do I change the "Submit" and "Thanks for subscribing!" texts?
They are theme content, not section settings. Change them in Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes → … → Edit default theme content.
