Featured product section
The Featured product section shows one product with its gallery, variants and buy buttons on any Split page, so customers can buy without opening it.
Applies to: Split 5.1.0 and later. Added in: Split 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Split 5.1.0.
The Featured product section shows one product on any page, for example the home page, with its gallery, options and Add to cart. Customers can buy it without opening the product page.
Where to find it: select Add section in the theme editor, then choose Featured product
The section uses the same two halves as the Product page: the gallery on the left, the product information on the right, pinned while the customer scrolls on screens wider than 1024 px. On phones and on tablets held upright, the halves stack.
Choosing the product
- Select product picks the product to show. Until you pick one, the section shows a placeholder.
- A new Featured product section starts with four blocks: Product header, Variant picker, Buy buttons and Description.
Media
The gallery settings are the same as on the product page: Gallery style (Scroll or Slider), Scale slider images to fit the viewport, Gallery pagination (Dots or Thumbnails), Enable image zoom and Enable video looping. See Product gallery for what each one does.
Blocks
Select Add block inside the section to add these blocks. They have the same settings as on the product page, documented in Product content blocks:
- Product header: title, price, vendor, badge, rating, tax information, SKU and barcode. The product title is an H3 heading here instead of the product page's H1, with the same look.
- Text: a short rich text.
- Variant picker: Blocks or Dropdown, color swatches, unavailable variants.
- Back in stock alert: an email form when the selected variant is sold out.
- Buy buttons: quantity, Add to cart, dynamic checkout buttons, pre-order label, gift card recipient form.
- Inventory level: the stock message and bar.
- Description: the product description.
- Custom HTML / Liquid: your own code.
- Collapsible tab: a tab with text, a page or an image.
- Pickup availability: local pickup for the selected variant.
- Product link: a "Visit product page" link to the full product page. It has no settings.
- Disclosures: Shopify product disclosures.
- App blocks from your installed apps.
How is it different from the product page?
The Featured product section has no Size guide, Share or Complementary products block, and it adds the Product link block. Its Collapsible tab has no Hide block if dynamic content is not present option, so a tab connected to an empty metafield still shows its heading. The product recommendations below the product page are a separate section and do not appear here.
Can I show more than one featured product?
Yes. Add one Featured product section per product. Each section has its own product and blocks. To show several products in a grid instead, use the Featured collection section.
