Blog posts section
The Blog posts section shows 1 to 16 recent articles from one blog in Kingdom, in two columns or a flexible slider of 2 to 5 columns.
Applies to: Kingdom 6.2.0 and later. Added in: Kingdom 2.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Kingdom 6.2.0.
The Blog posts section shows the latest articles of one blog on any Kingdom page, as two columns or as a slider. Each article shows its featured image and the details you choose with blocks.
Where to find it: select Add section in the theme editor, then choose Blog posts (Add section category Content).
Choosing the blog
- Blog selects the blog. Until you choose one, the section shows "There are currently no articles in this blog."
- Posts sets how many of the newest articles show, 1 to 16 (default 4).
- Heading shows a title above the articles (default "Latest Articles"). Heading tag sets its HTML tag, see General section settings.
- Show link to blog page adds a "Visit the blog" link next to the heading.
- Layout sets how the articles sit:
- Two columns (default): a grid of two articles per row, one per row on phones.
- Flexible (2 - 5 columns): a slider that customers drag or swipe. It shows four articles side by side on wide screens, three on smaller laptops and two on phones, and hides the excerpt on screens 768 px wide or less.
What each article shows
Show featured image shows the article's featured image at the top of each article. The rest comes from four blocks, each used once, in the order you drag them in the section:
- Title: the article title, linked to the article.
- Info: the publish date (Show date, on by default) and the author (Show author, off by default).
- Excerpt: the article's excerpt. When the article has no excerpt, Kingdom shows its first 20 words.
- Link: a "Keep reading" link to the article.
Remove a block to hide that detail. To change the texts "Visit the blog" and "Keep reading", edit them in Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes → … → Edit default theme content.
Where do I write the excerpt?
In Shopify admin → Content → Blog posts → open the article → Excerpt. Without an excerpt, the Excerpt block shows the first 20 words of the article content, without formatting.
Why does the section show no articles?
Because Blog is empty, or the blog has no published articles. Select the blog in the section, and check that its articles are visible (not hidden or scheduled) in Shopify admin.
