Answers to common Kingdom questions: the sidebar, product badges, the cart, popups, images and videos, with links to the pages that explain each one.

Short answers to the questions Kingdom store owners ask most: the sidebar, presets, product badges, the cart, popups, images and videos, languages and support. Each answer links the page with the details; for a specific problem, start with a troubleshooting page.

Which Kingdom version do I have?

Open Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes. Each Kingdom theme in your theme library shows its version number. The newest version is Kingdom 6.2.0, released 2026-09-24. See Update Kingdom and What's new in Kingdom.

How do I update Kingdom?

Add the new version from the update notification in Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes, check the updated copy, then publish it. Shopify carries over your settings, sections and content; code edits are not carried over. See Update Kingdom.

Where is the header in Kingdom?

In the Sidebar section. Kingdom has no header at the top of the page: the logo, the menus, search, account and cart sit in a sidebar on the left, which becomes a top bar on screens 948 px wide or less. See Sidebar section and Troubleshoot the sidebar and menus.

Can I switch to another Kingdom preset?

Yes. Duplicate the theme first, then choose another style in Theme settings → Theme style. Kingdom's styles are King (the Kingdom preset), Queen and Prince. Switching replaces your theme settings, such as colors and fonts, but keeps your sections and content. See Kingdom presets.

How is Kingdom built?

From sections and their blocks. Most sections have their own blocks; the Flex cards and Flex grid sections hold cards, and the cards hold theme blocks such as Heading, Text and Button. Store-wide settings are in Theme settings. See How Kingdom is built.

How do I add a New or Pre Order badge?

With a product tag. Add the tag new or preorder to the product in Shopify admin. Each product card shows one badge, and Sold Out and the sale badge come first. See Product card theme settings.

How do I make some products larger in the grid?

Turn on Emphasize featured products in Theme settings → Product card and tag the products featured. They take the space of four cards in grids. See Featured collection section.

Why are my images cropped?

Because full-width sections fill a fixed shape on every screen. Use the recommended sizes, keep text away from the edges and add mobile images. See Troubleshoot images and videos and Recommended image sizes.

Where do I add custom CSS?

In Theme settings → Custom CSS for the whole store, or in a section's own Custom CSS field for one section. Both are Shopify features. See Custom CSS and code.

How do I change a fixed theme text, such as "Add to cart"?

Open Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes → … → Edit default theme content and search for the text. See Shopify's guide Change the wording of your theme.

Is Kingdom translated?

Yes, into five storefront languages: English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. For other languages, use Shopify's Translate & Adapt app. See Troubleshoot speed, SEO and translations.

Can I change the checkout page?

Only with Shopify's checkout settings. Shopify controls the checkout, not Kingdom, and the theme has no checkout settings. Change the checkout look in Shopify admin → Settings → Checkout.

What can Kingdom not do?

Does Krown support make custom changes?

No. Krown support helps with theme settings, theme bugs and small CSS tweaks, but does not provide custom code work. See Custom work and code changes.

Where do I find answers for a specific area?

Star rating

The Star rating block shows a fixed row of stars filled 0 to 100 percent, with a caption, inside a Kingdom flex card; it does not read product reviews.

Troubleshoot the sidebar and menus

Fixes for Kingdom sidebar problems: missing submenus, parent links on mobile, the logo size, the account icon and the search drawer.
