Answers to common problems with product cards, the product page and the collection page in Kingdom. Product cards are styled in Product card theme settings; the product page and collection page have their own pages.
Where to find it: Theme settings → Product card, and the Product page and Collection page templates in the theme editor.
Why does my New or Pre Order badge not show?
Because the product's tag is not exactly new or preorder, or another badge comes first. Kingdom shows one badge per product card, in this order: Sold Out, the sale badge, Pre Order, New. A product that is sold out or on sale never shows New or Pre Order. Tags must be lowercase and written exactly; "Pre-order" or "New arrival" do not count.
Why does my sale badge not show?
Because the product has no compare-at price higher than its price. Kingdom shows the sale badge when the compare-at price in Shopify admin is higher than the price. A sold-out product shows Sold Out instead, even when it is discounted.
Why does the sale badge show "On Sale" and not a percentage?
Because Show discount as... is set to Text, or the product's variants have different prices or compare-at prices. The percentage shows only when every variant has the same saving. Set Show discount as... to Percentage in Theme settings → Product card.
Why does Sold Out show on a product I still sell?
Because no variant of the product can be bought. Kingdom shows Sold Out when every variant is out of stock and set to stop selling. To keep selling, turn on "Continue selling when out of stock" on the variants in Shopify admin; the badge then disappears.
Why is my featured product not larger in the grid?
Check that Emphasize featured products is on in Theme settings → Product card, that the product has the tag featured, and that it is in a grid, not a slider. Featured products are enlarged on the collection page and in the Featured collection section with Layout set to Grid, never on the search page.
Why are product ratings not showing?
Check three things. Show rating must be on in Theme settings → Product card, Rating app must match the review app you use, and the product must have at least one review. A product without reviews, or with a rating of 0, shows no stars. Some apps need their own setup steps as well; see Product review apps.
Why is there no quick buy button on some products?
Because those products are sold out, or Enable quick buy is off. Kingdom never shows a quick buy button on a sold-out product. Products with variants show Choose options, which opens the Quick view popup.
Why do my filters not show?
Because no filters exist in Shopify's Search & Discovery app, or Enable filtering is off in the Product grid section. Kingdom shows only the filters set in the app, and hides a filter when no product in the collection has a value for it. On the search page, filtering is off by default. See Collection page.
Why are my product images cropped on the product page?
Because the gallery is set to Slider and the images are portrait or very large. Turn on Scale slider images to fit the viewport in the Product page section, or use the Scroll gallery style for square and landscape images. See Recommended image sizes.
Why do my product cards have different heights?
Because Media aspect ratio is Natural and the product images have different shapes. Resize all product images to the same size, or choose a cropped ratio such as Square (1:1) in Theme settings → Product card.
Why is there no color swatch on the product page?
Because Kingdom's Variant picker shows every option as a dropdown. Kingdom does not show color swatches on the product page. Color swatches appear in the collection filters, when the Color option uses Shopify's swatches.
