Check here whether Kingdom can do something before you search the settings. Each entry states one limit of Kingdom 6.2.0, what to do instead, and the page that explains it.
Layout
- Kingdom does not have a header bar at the top of the page on desktop. Its navigation is the Sidebar section on the left, which becomes a top bar only on screens 948 px wide or less. No setting moves the sidebar to the top. See Sidebar section.
- Kingdom does not show more than three menu levels in the sidebar. Plan menus with at most two levels of submenus. See Sidebar menus.
- Kingdom does not open the link of a parent menu item on phones: tapping it opens its submenu. Add the parent's page as the first item of its submenu. See Sidebar menus.
- Kingdom does not show dropdown items in the footer menus. Only the top-level links of a footer menu appear. See Footer group.
- Kingdom does not support theme blocks outside the Flex cards and Flex grid sections. The other sections have their own blocks. See Blocks.
- Kingdom does not support hiding a whole section on mobile. Only the cards of the Flex cards and Flex grid sections have Hide on mobile, so build that content in a Flex section. See Flex grid section.
- Kingdom does not support setting a card width on mobile in the Flex cards section: every card is full width on phones. Use the Flex grid section for two cards side by side on phones. See Flex cards section.
- Kingdom does not change slides automatically. The slideshows have no autoplay setting. See Slideshow: horizontal section.
- Kingdom does not support more than two images in one Image comparison section. Add another section for each pair. See Image comparison section.
- Kingdom does not play YouTube or Vimeo videos as a background, or Shopify-hosted videos in the Video: popup section. Use Video: background for uploaded files and Video: popup for YouTube and Vimeo. See Video: background section.
Products and cart
- Kingdom does not support custom product badges with settings. A card shows one badge, the first that applies: Sold Out, the sale badge, Pre Order (tag
preorder) or New (tagnew). Another badge needs custom code. See Product card theme settings. - Kingdom does not calculate a percentage badge for products whose variants have different prices. Those cards show "On Sale". See Product card theme settings.
- Kingdom does not have a product card block. Every product grid takes its look from Theme settings → Product card. See Cards.
- Kingdom does not enlarge
featuredproducts in sliders or on the search page. The large cards show only in grids. See Featured collection section. - Kingdom does not send back in stock emails to customers. The Back in stock alert block sends you an email, and you notify the customer yourself. Use a back in stock app for automatic emails. See Product page.
- Kingdom does not apply the terms and conditions checkbox to the express checkout buttons. It blocks only the cart's Checkout button; the additional checkout buttons in the cart and the dynamic checkout buttons on product pages skip it. Turn those buttons off if customers must accept your terms. See Cart theme settings.
- Kingdom does not show the product description in the Featured product section. Add a Product link block to the full product page. See Featured product section.
- Kingdom does not read product reviews in the Star rating block or the Testimonials section. Use Show rating on product cards, the Product rating block, or the review app's own block. See Star rating block.
- Kingdom does not search by SKU, barcode or tag on the search results page. Those options apply only to the predictive search drawer. See Predictive search theme settings.
Popups and emails
- Kingdom does not show the newsletter popup once a month. Popup frequency Show each month behaves as "show once": the popup comes back only after its text changes or the browser data is cleared. Use Show each week for a repeating popup. See Popup section.
- Kingdom does not limit the popup or the announcement bar per customer account. Both remember their state in the customer's browser, so a new device or browser shows them again. See Troubleshoot popups and banners.
- Kingdom does not bring the announcement bar back after a customer closes it, even when you change the message or turn off Show dismiss button later. The customer sees it again only in another browser. Keep the dismiss button off from the start for a message every customer must see. See Announcement bar section.
- Kingdom does not limit the cookie banner to the regions that require consent. It shows to every customer who has not answered it yet. Use Shopify's own cookie banner if you need region rules, and keep only one banner on. See Cookies section.
- Kingdom does not send email signups to Mailchimp or another email service directly. Signups go to Shopify customers; connect the service with its Shopify app. See Email signup section.
- Kingdom does not support dropdowns, checkboxes or file uploads in the Contact form section. Use a form app. See Contact form section.
Languages, fonts and code
- Kingdom does not include storefront texts beyond English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. Translate other languages with Translate & Adapt. See Troubleshoot speed, SEO and translations.
- Kingdom does not support uploading a custom font with theme settings. Fonts come from Shopify's font library; a custom font needs custom code. See Custom fonts.
- Kingdom does not include custom code work in Krown support. Hire a Shopify developer or agency for custom features. See Custom work and code changes.
Who controls the things that are not in the theme?
Shopify controls checkout, payments, shipping rates, discounts, markets and currencies, languages, customer accounts, structured data for products, search results and product recommendations. Kingdom shows what Shopify provides, and each topic page links to the matching Shopify setting.
