Footer group
The Footer group of Kingdom: the Footer section with text, menus, email signup, social links and payment icons, and the sections you add above it.
Applies to: Kingdom 6.2.0 and later. Added in: Kingdom 5.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Kingdom 6.2.0.
The Footer group is the area at the bottom of every page. It holds the Footer section, with your text, menus, email signup, social icons and payment icons, and any sections you add above it. Kingdom starts the group with a Text columns with icons section for shipping, delivery and returns information.
Where to find it: Online Store → Themes → Customize → Footer group, under the page sections in the theme editor sidebar.
- Select Add section inside the Footer group to add more sections above the footer, such as an Email signup or a Rich text section. They show on every page.
- The Footer section uses its own colors from Theme settings → Colors → Footer. The other sections in the group use the body colors or their own color settings.
Footer blocks
The Footer section holds up to 4 blocks, in the order you drag them:
- Text: a Heading and a Content text, for example your contact details. Text size makes the text Regular or Large.
- Menus: up to two menus side by side, each with its own heading (First menu heading, First menu, Second menu heading, Second menu). Only the top-level links show.
- Email signup: a Heading and an email field. Customers who sign up are added to Shopify admin → Customers with the tag
newsletterand email marketing consent. - Social links: a Heading and the icons of the profiles in Social theme settings.
- Image: one image, such as a logo or a badge.
Email signup, Social links and Image can each be added once. Under the blocks, the footer shows the selectors, the payment icons, the Follow on Shop button and the copyright line with your store name.
Heading tag sets the HTML tag of every block heading in the footer, for search engines; it does not change their size.
Setting up payment icons
Show payment icons shows the icons of the payment methods your store accepts, from your payment settings in Shopify admin. Shopify also adapts them to the customer's region and currency.
To show your own icons instead, or in addition:
Prepare the icons
Make up to six small images in the shape of a card icon, about 38 x 24 px or a larger image with the same proportions. Kingdom shows them at 38 x 24 px and crops other shapes from the center.
Upload them
In the theme editor, select Footer in the Footer group. Under Custom icons, upload the images in Icon 1 to Icon 6. They show after Shopify's icons.
Hide Shopify's icons if you want
Turn on Only show the custom icons to show your uploaded icons only. Show payment icons must stay on.
Language, country and Follow on Shop
- Show language selector adds a language dropdown when your store has more than one published language (Shopify admin → Settings → Languages).
- Show country/region selector adds a country dropdown, which also changes the currency, when your store sells to more than one country (Shopify admin → Settings → Markets).
- Enable Follow on Shop adds Shopify's Follow on Shop button, so customers can follow your store in the Shop app. It needs Shop Pay to be turned on in your payment settings.
The sidebar has its own language and country selectors in the Sidebar section.
Why does my footer menu not show the dropdown links?
Because the Footer section shows only the top-level links of a menu: "This menu won't show dropdown items". Child links nested under a parent in Shopify admin → Content → Menus are left out. Make a separate, flat menu for the footer, or use the second menu of the Menus block for the child links.
Why do some payment icons not show?
Because Shopify decides which icons to show. The list comes from the payment methods turned on in Shopify admin → Settings → Payments, and Shopify can hide methods that are not available in the customer's region or currency. To show an icon Shopify does not offer, upload it as a custom icon.
Why is the Follow on Shop button missing?
Because Shop Pay is not turned on for your store, or Enable Follow on Shop is off. The button is Shopify's: it shows only when Shop Pay is available in Shopify admin → Settings → Payments.
