Announcement bar section
The Announcement bar section shows a short message with an optional link above Kingdom's sidebar and page, on every page or only the home page.

The Announcement bar section shows one short message in a thin bar at the very top of your store, above the sidebar and the page, such as "Free shipping on orders over $50".
Where to find it: Online Store → Themes → Customize → Announcement bar, at the top of the theme editor sidebar. It is a fixed part of every page: you cannot move it, duplicate it or add it with Add section.
Showing the bar
- Show announcement bar turns the bar on. It is off by default.
- Show only on homepage shows the bar on the home page only. With it off, the bar shows on every page.
- Show dismiss button adds a close button on the right of the bar. A customer who closes the bar does not see it again in that browser.
Message and colors
- Content is the message, as plain text on one line. Keep it short: on phones a long message wraps onto several lines.
- Link makes the whole bar a link, for example to a collection or a page.
- Background color and Text color color the bar. They do not follow the theme colors.
Why does the announcement bar not come back after I closed it?
Because Kingdom remembers the close in the browser's local storage. Once a customer, or you, selects the close button, the bar stays hidden in that browser for good, also after you change the message and also in the theme editor. Customers on another device or browser still see it. To see the bar again yourself, open your store in a private window or clear the site data in your browser.
Changing the Content, or turning off Show dismiss button later, does not bring the bar back for customers who closed it. For messages that every customer must see, keep Show dismiss button off from the start.
Can I show several announcements?
No. The Announcement bar section shows one message. For several messages that move across the screen, add a Scrolling text section at the top of the page template.
All Announcement bar settings
Every setting in this group, with its type and default.
Show announcement bar (checkbox, default: off): Shows the announcement bar at the top of the store, above the sidebar.
Show only on homepage (checkbox, default: off): Shows the bar on the home page only. With it off, the bar shows on every page.
Show dismiss button (checkbox, default: on): Adds a close button. A customer who closes the bar never sees it again in that browser, also after you change the message.
Content (text field, default: "Use this bar for a short, important announcement."): Sets the message, as plain text.
Link (link): Makes the whole bar a link.
Background color (color, default: #111111): Sets the background color of the bar. It does not follow the theme colors.
Text color (color, default: #ffffff): Sets the text and close button color of the bar.

Social theme settings
