Featured collection section
The Featured collection section shows up to 96 products from one collection in Kingdom, as a grid or a slider of product cards.
Applies to: Kingdom 6.2.0 and later. Added in: Kingdom 2.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Kingdom 6.2.0.
The Featured collection section shows products from one collection on any Kingdom page, as a grid or a slider. The products use the same product cards as the collection pages.
Where to find it: select Add section in the theme editor, then choose Featured collection (Add section category Products).
Choosing the collection
- Collection selects the collection. Until you choose one, the section shows placeholder products.
- Maximum number of products shown sets how many products appear, 4 to 96 (default 12). They come in the collection's own sort order.
- Heading shows a title above the products (default "Featured collection"). Heading tag sets its HTML tag, see General section settings.
- Show link to collection page adds a "View all products" link next to the heading.
The product cards have no settings in this section. Their image ratio, hover image, caption, badges, rating and quick buy come from Theme settings → Product card, see Product card theme settings.
When Theme settings → SEO & performance → Improve product breadcrumb navigation is on, the product links include the collection, so the product page breadcrumb shows the collection name.
Grid or slider
Layout sets how the products sit:
- Grid (default): four products per row on screens 1280 px wide or more, three on smaller screens and two on phones (649 px or less).
- Slider: the same number of products side by side in one row, which customers drag or swipe. Dots under the row show the position.
Making some products larger
In the grid layout, products tagged featured can take the space of four cards: two columns and two rows.
Turn on the setting
In Theme settings → Product card → Product thumbnail, turn on Emphasize featured products. The King, Queen and Prince theme styles have it on already.
Tag the products
In Shopify admin → Products, open each product to enlarge and add the tag featured in Tags, in lowercase. Save.
Order the collection
In Shopify admin → Products → Collections, open the collection, set Sort to Manually and drag the featured products to the top. This keeps the grid free of gaps.
The large cards show only in the Grid layout. In the Slider layout every card has the same size.
Why do some products look larger than others?
Because they have the featured tag and Emphasize featured products is on in Theme settings → Product card. Remove the tag from the product, or turn the setting off to give every card the same size.
How do I change the order of the products?
In Shopify admin, not in the theme. The section follows the collection's sort order: open the collection in Shopify admin → Products → Collections and change Sort, or choose Manually and drag the products.
Why are there gaps in my grid?
Because a large featured card does not fit in the space left in a row, so the grid moves it to the next row. Put the featured products at the start of the collection, or use a number of them that fits the four-column row.
