Image section

The Image section shows one full-width image in Kingdom at its own proportions, with an optional mobile image and a link.

Applies to: Kingdom 6.2.0 and later. Added in: Kingdom 2.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Kingdom 6.2.0.

The Image section shows one image across the page at its own proportions, without cropping. It can link to another page and use a separate image on phones.

Where to find it: select Add section in the theme editor, then choose Image (Add section category Media & galleries).

Image and mobile image

  • Image sets the picture. Kingdom shows it at its own width-to-height ratio, so the whole image is always visible.
  • Mobile image replaces Image on screens 948 px wide or less. Use it for a portrait version of a wide banner, so the image stays readable on phones.
  • Link makes the image clickable. Open link in a new window opens it in a new browser tab.
  • Enable inner content spacing (default off) adds side padding and a space below the image. Off, the image runs edge to edge. See General section settings.

Because the image is not cropped, its height follows its width: a wide image is a low banner, a square image is as tall as it is wide.

Why is my image so tall?

Because the Image section shows the whole image at its own proportions, across the full width. A square or portrait image becomes very tall. Crop the image to a wide shape before you upload it, for example 1920 x 800 px, or use a Slideshow: horizontal section, which has fixed heights.

Can I put text on the image?

No. The Image section shows only the image. Use the Image with text section, a Slideshow: horizontal with one slide, or a Text card with an image in the Flex grid section.
