Troubleshoot speed, SEO and translations

Answers about Kingdom speed, SEO microdata, breadcrumbs and translations, including which storefront languages the theme includes.

Applies to: Kingdom 6.2.0 and later. Added in: Kingdom 2.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Kingdom 6.2.0.

Use this page for questions about page speed, search engines, structured data and the languages of your Kingdom store. Shopify controls many of these topics, so each answer says who owns the behaviour and where to change it.

Where to find the settings: Theme settings → SEO & performance and Theme settings → Embellishments.

Which languages does Kingdom include?

Kingdom 6.2.0 includes storefront texts in five languages: English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. The theme editor is in English. Older release notes mention more languages; the released Kingdom 6.2.0 theme ships these five. For any other language, add it in Shopify admin → Settings → Languages and translate the texts with Shopify's free Translate & Adapt app. See Translate your store into multiple languages.

How do I translate my store?

With a translation app. Shopify controls store languages, not Kingdom. Add and publish the languages in Shopify admin → Settings → Languages, then translate with Translate & Adapt or another translation app. Texts you typed in the theme editor are translated in the app under the theme's content.

How do I change a fixed theme text, such as "Add to cart"?

In the theme's storefront texts. Open Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes → … → Edit default theme content and search for the text. The change applies to the language you edit. See Shopify's guide Change the wording of your theme.

Should I disable the microdata schema?

Only when an SEO app adds its own structured data. Kingdom adds schema.org data for your store (WebSite and Organization), the breadcrumb, and Shopify's structured data for products and articles. Disable microdata schema in Theme settings → SEO & performance removes all of it. Turn it on only if you use a third-party app for SEO, so search engines do not read the same data twice. See SEO and performance theme settings.

Why does Google Search Console show structured data errors on products?

Because of the product data Shopify generates. For product and article pages, Kingdom prints Shopify's own structured data, and Shopify decides what it contains. Fill in the product fields Google asks for, such as the price and availability, and contact Shopify support for errors in that data.

Usually not. Shopify adds a canonical link that points search engines to the main product address. These links come from Improve product breadcrumb navigation (on by default), which adds the collection name to the product breadcrumb. Turn it off if you prefer one address per product. See SEO and performance theme settings.

How can I make my store faster?

Remove what slows the page, starting with apps. Check these in order:

  1. Update to the latest Kingdom version. See Update Kingdom.
  2. Remove apps you do not use, and ask the app developer to remove code an uninstalled app left behind.
  3. Compress large images before you upload them, and keep background videos short.
  4. Keep Preload links on hover on (Theme settings → SEO & performance → Performance). Kingdom then starts loading a page when the mouse rests on its link, so the next page opens faster.

Store speed depends on the theme, the apps, the images and third-party scripts together. Shopify measures the speed score shown in Shopify admin. See Understand your store speed.

How do I change my store's search engine title and description?

In Shopify admin, not in Kingdom. The home page title and meta description are in Shopify admin → Online Store → Preferences, and each product, collection, page and article has its own search engine listing. See SEO settings in Krown themes.

Why do I see a small spinning circle on my images?

Because Image preloader is on, the default. Kingdom shows a small circular preloader while an image is still loading. Turn it off in Theme settings → Embellishments if you prefer an empty space until the image arrives. See Embellishments theme settings.

Still not working?
