Featured product section
The Featured product section shows one product with its gallery, variant picker and buy buttons on any Highlight page.
Applies to: Highlight 4.1.0 and later. Added in: Highlight 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Highlight 4.1.0.
The Featured product section shows one product on any Highlight page, with its media gallery, price, variant picker and buy buttons. Customers can choose a variant and add it to the cart without opening the product page.
Where to find it: Online Store → Themes → Customize → Add section → Featured product (Products category). After you add it, the editor sidebar lists the section as Product information, the same name as the main section of the product page.
- Select product picks the product.
- The section starts with the Product header, Variant picker, Buy buttons and Product link blocks. It also accepts app blocks, for example a reviews widget.
Media
The gallery shows all the product's media (images, videos and 3D models) in a slider.
- Media aspect ratio keeps the media in their own shape (Natural) or crops them all to one shape: Short (4:3), Square (1:1), Tall (5:6) or Taller (2:3). With Natural, upload the product images in the same size for a clean gallery.
- Enable image zoom lets customers open a larger version of an image.
- Enable video looping plays product videos again when they end.
Blocks
Each block can be added once, except Disclosures. Drag them to change their order.
Product header
Shows the product title and price, with:
- Show vendor, Show product rating, Show tax information (the "taxes included" or shipping policy line), Show SKU and Show BARCODE of the selected variant.
- Above the product gallery moves the product header above the gallery on mobile. Off, it stays where the block is in the list.
The rating comes from the app chosen in Theme settings → Product card → Rating app. See Product card theme settings.
Variant picker
- Variants selector type shows the options as Blocks (buttons) or as a Dropdown.
- Show color swatches shows color options as swatches. See Color swatches for where the swatch colors come from.
- Inventory notification shows a stock notice: never, only when fewer than 5 are left, or always. The variants need inventory tracking in Shopify.
Back in stock alert
Shows an email form when the selected variant is sold out. The form sends you an email with the product and variant; Highlight does not notify the customer, you do. See the setup in Product page.
Buy buttons
- Show quantity selector shows a quantity field next to the Add to cart button.
- Show "pre-order" button label changes the button text from "Add to cart" to "Pre-Order".
- Show dynamic checkout buttons shows Shopify's express checkout buttons, such as Shop Pay or PayPal, under the Add to cart button.
- Show recipient information form for gift card products lets customers send a gift card product to someone else, with a message. Dynamic checkout buttons are hidden for those products.
Product link
Shows a "View product details" link to the full product page, for the description and everything else the section does not show.
Disclosures
Shows the product disclosures you set for the product in Shopify admin, under Heading (default "Disclosures"). The block stays empty for products without disclosures. See Product page for how to set them up.
How is the Featured product section different from the product page?
The Featured product section has fewer blocks. It has no description, collapsible tabs, share buttons, pickup availability, complementary products, key product features or additional product images. Use the Product link block to send customers to the full product page for those.
Why does the section show placeholder content?
No product is selected yet. Choose one in Select product. A product with no media shows a placeholder image in the gallery.
All Featured product settings
Every setting, with its type and default.
Accepts these blocks: Product header, Variant picker, Back in stock alert, Buy buttons, Product link, Disclosures and app blocks.
Select product (product picker): Sets the product the section shows.
Product information section: Media
Where to find it: Product information → Media
Media aspect ratio (dropdown, default: Uncropped: Natural): Sets the shape of the gallery media: Natural keeps each file's own proportions, the other options crop all media to one shape. Options: Uncropped: Natural, Cropped: Short (4:3), Cropped: Square (1:1), Cropped: Tall (5:6), Cropped: Taller (2:3).
Enable image zoom (checkbox, default: on): Lets customers open a larger version of a gallery image.
Enable video looping (checkbox, default: off): Plays the product's videos again from the start when they end.
Product header block
Where to find it: Product information → Add block → Product header
One Product header block per section.
Show vendor (checkbox, default: on): Shows the product vendor in the product header.
Show product rating (checkbox, default: on): Shows the product rating from the app chosen in Theme settings → Product card → Rating app.
Show tax information (checkbox, default: off): Shows the taxes included line, or the link to your shipping policy, under the price.
Show SKU (checkbox, default: off): Shows the SKU of the selected variant, when it has one.
Show BARCODE (checkbox, default: off): Shows the barcode of the selected variant, when it has one.
Product header block: Position on mobile devices
Where to find it: Product information → Add block → Product header → Position on mobile devices
Above the product gallery (checkbox, default: on): Moves the product header (title and price) above the gallery on mobile. Off, it stays in its place in the block list.
Variant picker block
Where to find it: Product information → Add block → Variant picker
One Variant picker block per section.
Variants selector type (dropdown, default: Blocks): Shows the product options as buttons (Blocks) or as a dropdown. Options: Blocks, Dropdown.
Show color swatches (checkbox, default: on): Shows color options as swatches. Swatches come from Shopify's swatches, image files named after the option value, or the color name.
This theme also offers support for color swatches created with category metafields. Shopify Help Center.
Inventory notification (dropdown, default: Don't show inventory information): Shows a stock notice for the selected variant: never, only when fewer than 5 are left, or always. Needs inventory tracking on the variant. Options: Don't show inventory information, Show a notice if inventory falls below 5, Always show inventory.
Back in stock alert block
Where to find it: Product information → Add block → Back in stock alert
One Back in stock alert block per section.
This back in stock alert form will show up when the product is out of stock.
Store owner will receive an email when a customer fills in this form. Store owner must manually notify the customer once the product is back in stock.
Text (formatted text, default: "Enter your email address below to be notified when this product is back in stock."): Sets the text shown above the email field when the selected variant is sold out.
Button label (text field, default: "Notify me"): Sets the text of the form's submit button.
Success message (text field, default: "Thanks! We will notify you when this product becomes available!"): Sets the message shown after the customer sends the form.
Email message (text field, default: "I would like to be notified when this product is back in stock."): Sets the message of the email you receive, together with the product, variant and link.
Buy buttons block
Where to find it: Product information → Add block → Buy buttons
One Buy buttons block per section.

The Product link block has no settings in Highlight 4.1.0.
Disclosures block
Where to find it: Product information → Add block → Disclosures
Displays the disclosures attached to this product through Shopify's Product Disclosures. Shopify Help Center.
Heading (text field, default: "Disclosures"): Sets the title shown above the product's disclosures.
Product disclosures can be configured with metafields at product level.
