Rich text section

The Rich text section combines headings, text and buttons in one Highlight section, aligned left or centered.

Applies to: Highlight 4.1.0 and later. Added in: Highlight 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Highlight 4.1.0.

The Rich text section combines headings, paragraphs and buttons in any order and as often as you need. It starts as a simple block of text and can become an about us text, a bold call to action or a short statement.

Where to find it: Online Store → Themes → Customize → Add section → Rich text (Storytelling category).

Ways to use it:

  • An about us text: a Large heading, two paragraphs and a button to your story page.
  • A bold call to action: one Large heading and a button.
  • A short statement between two image sections: one Text block.
  • An introduction to the next section: a Regular heading and a line of text.

Alignment

Text alignment aligns all the blocks Left (the default) or Center. Centered text uses a narrower column.

Blocks

Add the blocks in the order they should appear; each type can be added several times. The section starts with a Heading, a Text and a Button block.

Heading

  • Heading is the title. Default: "Talk about your brand".
  • Heading size sets Regular (the default) or Large.

Text

Text is a paragraph. It supports bold, italic, links and lists.

Button

Button label and Button link add an underlined link with an arrow. The button shows when Button label is filled.

Can I add images to the Rich text section?

No. The Rich text section holds text and buttons only. For a statement with small images floating behind it, use the Heading section. For an image next to text, use the Image with text section.

Do Rich text headings count as headings for SEO?

No. The Heading block of the Rich text section looks like a heading but is not marked as one for search engines. For an SEO heading, use the Heading section or the Heading block of the Flex sections, which have a Heading tag setting.
