Custom HTML / Liquid section
The Custom HTML / Liquid section adds your own HTML or Liquid code to a Highlight page, with an optional heading and full width.
Applies to: Highlight 4.1.0 and later. Added in: Highlight 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Highlight 4.1.0.
The Custom HTML / Liquid section adds your own HTML or Liquid code to a Highlight page, for example an embed code from another service or a small piece of Liquid that reads a metafield.
Where to find it: Online Store → Themes → Customize → Add section → Custom HTML / Liquid (Custom category).
The code
- Custom Liquid holds the code. It accepts HTML, Liquid, and
<style>or<script>tags. - Heading shows a small title above the code. Leave it empty for no title.
- Full width lets the code use the whole width of the page. Off, it lines up with the text of the other Highlight sections.
- Heading tag sets the HTML level of the heading for search engines.
Krown support does not provide help with custom code. The section runs the code you paste as it is; check it on a duplicate of your theme first. See Custom work and code changes.
Can I add code inside a card instead of a whole section?
Yes, inside the Flex sections. The Custom Liquid block adds code inside a Card of the Flex cards section or a Text card of the Flex grid section. The product page has its own Custom HTML / Liquid block, described in Product page.
Is my code kept when I update Highlight?
Yes. The code is a section setting, so Shopify carries it over with the rest of your settings. It can still stop working if it relies on Highlight's HTML or class names, so check it after each update.
