Contact form section
The Contact form section adds a contact form with your own fields to any Highlight page; messages go to your store's email.
Applies to: Highlight 4.1.0 and later. Added in: Highlight 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Highlight 4.1.0.
The Contact form section adds a contact form to any Highlight page. Customers fill in their name, email and your own fields, and the message is sent to your store's email address.
Where to find it: Online Store → Themes → Customize → Add section → Contact form (Forms category).
- Heading shows a small title above the form. Default: "Drop us a line".
- Heading tag sets the HTML level of the heading for search engines. It does not change its size.
- The section starts with a Name & email block, a Message field and a Submit button. It holds up to 12 blocks.
Blocks
Form field
Adds one field to the form. Add as many as you need, in the order customers should fill them in.
- Label is the field's name above the input, and the name of the field in the email you receive.
- Type chooses Single line for short answers or Multi line for a message box.
- Required stops the form from sending while the field is empty. Required fields show an asterisk.
Make sure that all of your fields have unique labels. Highlight names each field after its label, so two fields with the same label overwrite each other and you receive only one answer.
Name & email
Adds the Name and Email fields side by side. Both are always required. For signed-in customers, Highlight fills them in from the customer account. One per section.
Submit button
Adds the send button (a paper plane icon) and the note that marks required fields. One per section. Without it, customers cannot send the form.
Where do contact form messages go?
To your store's contact email, set in Shopify admin → Settings → General. Shopify sends each message as an email, with the customer's name, email and every field. After sending, the form shows "Thanks for contacting us. We'll get back to you ASAP".
Why do I not receive the messages?
Check the store email in Shopify admin → Settings → General, then your spam folder. Shopify sends the emails, not Highlight. A form without a Submit button block cannot be sent at all.
