Scrolling images section

The Scrolling images section shows images that scroll sideways in Highlight, in 2 to 6 columns, with captions and links.

Applies to: Highlight 4.1.0 and later. Added in: Highlight 3.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Highlight 4.1.0.

The Scrolling images section shows a row of images that scrolls sideways by itself, in a loop, with optional captions and links. You choose the speed, the direction and how many images fit on a desktop screen. Added in Highlight 3.0.0.

Where to find it: Online Store → Themes → Customize → Add section → Scrolling images (Media & galleries category).

Scrolling

  • Scroll direction moves the images to the Left (the default) or to the Right.
  • Scroll speed sets how fast they move, 20 to 300. Default: 100. A higher number is faster; on screens up to 768 px wide the speed is a third slower.
  • Pause on mouseover stops the row while a customer's pointer is over it. Default: on.

Layout

  • Desktop layout sets how many images fit on the screen at once on desktop: 2 to 6 columns. Default: 3. The layout adapts to tablets and phones: 4, 5 and 6 columns become 3 on screens up to 835 px wide.
  • Image alignment lines up images of different heights at their Top (the default), Center or Bottom.
  • Text alignment aligns the captions left, center or right.
  • Heading shows a small title above the row. Default: "Scrolling images".
  • Heading tag sets the HTML level of the heading for search engines.

Blocks

Scrolling item

Each Scrolling item is one image. The section starts with one; add as many as you need.

  • Image picks the picture. It keeps its own proportions.
  • Caption shows a short line under the image.
  • Link makes the image a link.
  • Open link in a new window opens it in a new browser tab.

Why do the images repeat?

The row loops. Highlight repeats your images as often as needed to fill the screen, so a row with only a few images shows them several times side by side. Add more images, or choose more columns in Desktop layout, for a longer row.
