Blocks

Blocks in Highlight: the ten theme blocks you can add inside a Card or a Text card of the Flex sections.

Applies to: Highlight 4.1.0 and later. Added in: Highlight 4.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Highlight 4.1.0.

Highlight has ten theme blocks, added in Highlight 4.0.0. You add them inside a Card of the Flex cards section or a Text card of the Flex grid section, in any order and as many times as you need.

Where to find it: Online Store → Themes → Customize → select a Card or a Text card → Add block.

The ten theme blocks

BlockWhat it adds

Caption blockA short line of text in five sizes, with its own text and background color
Content group blockButton, Image and Caption blocks side by side
Custom Liquid blockYour own HTML or Liquid code
Divider blockA horizontal line
Empty space blockA vertical gap of 0, 20 or 40 px
Heading blockA title in four sizes, with its own heading tag
Image blockA small image, such as a logo or badge, with a link
Text blockA paragraph of rich text
Star rating blockFive stars filled to a percentage you set, with a caption

App blocks from your installed apps can go in a Card or Text card too.

How blocks are arranged

  • Inside a card, blocks stack one under the other, in the order you drag them in the sidebar.
  • The section's Text padding and Text spacing set the space around and between them. In the Flex cards section, Text alignment aligns them; in a Text card, its own Text alignment places them.
  • Blocks use the card's colors: its Text color for text and its Accent for button hovers. Only the Caption, Divider and Star rating blocks have colors of their own.

Why can I not add these blocks to other sections?

Only the Flex cards and Flex grid sections accept theme blocks. The other Highlight sections have their own fixed blocks (for example the slides of Slideshow: vertical or the testimonials of the Testimonials section), described on each section's page.
