Button block

The Button block adds a link button, outline or solid, inside a Card, Text card or Content group in Highlight.

Applies to: Highlight 4.1.0 and later. Added in: Highlight 4.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Highlight 4.1.0.

The Button block adds a link button inside a card of the Flex sections, in one of two styles: an underlined text link with an arrow, or a solid button.

Where to find it: Online Store → Themes → Customize → select a Card (Flex cards section), a Text card (Flex grid section) or a Content group → Add block → Button.

  • Button label is the text on the button. The block shows nothing while it is empty.
  • Button link is where the button goes: a product, a collection, a page or any web address.
  • Open link in a new window opens the link in a new browser tab. It shows when Button link is set.

Style

Button style sets the look:

  • Outline (the default) shows the label underlined, with an arrow.
  • Solid shows a filled button in the text color.

On hover, both styles change to the card's Accent color, or the store accent color when the card has none. See Card and Text card.

How do I put two buttons side by side?

Add a Content group block to the card, then add two Button blocks inside it. Blocks in a Content group sit next to each other instead of one under the other.

Why does my button not work in a Text card?

The Text card has its own Link. When the whole card is a link, the buttons inside it cannot be clicked. Clear the Text card's Link. See Text card.
