Typography theme settings

The Typography theme settings choose Highlight's heading, body and testimonial fonts and the base size of headings and body text.

Applies to: Highlight 4.1.0 and later. Added in: Highlight 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Highlight 4.1.0.

Highlight uses three fonts: one for headings, one for body text and one for the quotes of the Testimonials section. You pick them from Shopify's font library and set the base size of headings and body text.

Where to find it: Theme settings → Typography

Customizing the fonts

  • Headings sets the font of all titles and calls to action in your store.
  • The first Base size (24 to 42 px, default 36 px) sets the size of headings. Every heading size in the theme is calculated from it.
  • Body sets the font of the general text of your store.
  • The second Base size (14 to 24 px, default 18 px) sets the size of body text, with the other text sizes calculated from it.
  • Testimonials sets the font of the quotes in the Testimonials section.

Adjust the two Base size settings after you change a font, so that the new font reads well: some fonts look larger or smaller than others at the same size.

For bold text, Highlight loads the next heavier weight of the font you chose (or weight 700 when there is none).

Can I use my own font?

Not with theme settings. The font pickers offer only the fonts in Shopify's font library, which includes system fonts and many Google fonts. Highlight does not support uploading your own font files in the theme editor. A custom font needs custom code in the theme files, which Krown support does not provide; see Custom CSS and code and Custom work and code changes.

Where is the Testimonials font used?

Only in the quotes of the Testimonials section, on any page where you add that section. The old docs said it loads only for a Testimonials section on the home page; in Highlight 4.1.0 it works on every page. If your store has no Testimonials section, this font has no visible effect.
