Search page
The Search page of Local shows product, article and page results with filters, sorting and the product card blocks you choose.

The Search page shows the results of a store search: products as product cards, and matching blog posts and pages below them. It has the same filters and sorting as the collection page.
Where to find it: Online Store → Themes → Customize → Search
The predictive search that opens from the header (with results while typing) is set in Theme settings → Predictive search. This page is the full results page, shown when the customer submits a search.
Filtering and sorting
- Enable filtering and Enable sorting are off by default on the search page. Turn them on to show the filters and the sort menu above the results. The filters themselves are set in Shopify admin with the Shopify Search & Discovery app.
- Show filters as shows the filters as a List above the results (default) or in a Sidebar.
- Expand sidebar filters by default and Stick filters sidebar to the top (Sidebar only) open every filter group and keep the sidebar in view while scrolling.
- Image filter layout shows filters with images in 1 or 2 columns.
Filters and sorting apply to the product results.
Layout
- Results per page sets how many results load before the pagination, 12 to 48 (default 24).
- Desktop layout sets 3 or 4 (default) products per row on desktop; Mobile layout sets 1 (default) or 2 on phones.
Product results
Products appear first, as product cards. Their design comes from Theme settings → Product card.
Article results
Blog posts that match the search appear in their own list, after the products, with the start of the post text.
- Show featured image shows the post image, cropped to Media aspect ratio (Short 4:3 by default).
- Show date, Show author and Show comments number add those details.
Pages that match appear in a third list.
Product card blocks
The product cards of the results are built from blocks: Price, Title, Quick buy, Vendor, Rating, Local availability, Icons list, Dynamic text and Product link (the search page has no Empty space block). See Product grid blocks.
Can search results show filters in a sidebar?
Yes. Turn on Enable filtering, then set Show filters as to Sidebar. Filtering is off by default on the search page, unlike the collection page.
Can I control which products appear first in the results?
No, not in the theme. Shopify decides the order and the matches of search results. You can add product synonyms and boost products with the Shopify Search & Discovery app in Shopify admin.

Results per page (slider 12 to 48, step 4, default: 24): Sets how many results load before the pagination, 12 to 48.

Dynamic text block
Where to find it: Search → Search results → Add block → Dynamic text
Label metafield (text field): Type the product metafield to show, as namespace.key (for example custom.product_info). The theme reads it for every product card; products without a value show nothing in this line.
Text size (dropdown, default: Regular): Sets the size of the metafield text in the card. Options: Small, Regular, Large.
Text color (color, default: #6A6A6A): Sets the color of the metafield text (grey by default).
Text transform (uppercase) (checkbox, default: off): Shows the metafield text in capital letters.
Product link block
Where to find it: Search → Search results → Add block → Product link
One Product link block per section.
Button label (text field, default: "View product"): Sets the text of the button that opens the product page.
