Gift card page

Applies to: Local 4.2.1 and later. Added in: Local 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Local 4.2.1.

The Gift card page is the page a customer opens from the gift card email. It shows the gift card's value or remaining balance, its code, its expiry date, a QR code, and buttons to start shopping, print the card or add it to Apple Wallet.

Where to find it: in the theme editor, open the template picker and select Gift card, then select Gift card.

• Logo image shows your logo at the top of the card page. Without one, the store name shows as text.
• Logo image width sets the logo width (default 100 px).

The rest of the page comes from Shopify's gift card data:

• The title "Here's your gift card!" and the value. After a partial use, the remaining balance shows with "left".
• The code, which the customer types at checkout, and "Expires on" with the date when the card has one.
• A QR code of the card, for scanning in a physical store.
• Start shopping opens your store, Print prints the page, and Add to Apple Wallet shows when Shopify offers a wallet pass for the card.
• A disabled or expired card says "This is not a valid gift card" or "Expired on".

Change these texts in Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes → … → Edit default theme content.

How do customers send a gift card to someone else?Copy Anchor Link

With the recipient form of the Buy buttons block on the gift card product's page. Turn on Show recipient information form for gift card products in that template's Buy buttons block. The recipient then receives the gift card email and opens this page from it. See Product variant and buy blocks.
