Social theme settings

The Social theme settings of Borders hold the links to your social profiles and two custom icons, used by the footer and the navigation drawer.

Applies to: Borders 3.1.0 and later. Added in: Borders 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Borders 3.1.0.

The Social theme settings hold the links to your social profiles, once for the whole store. Borders shows them as icons wherever a social links option is turned on.

Social profiles

  • Paste the full address of each profile, for example https://instagram.com/yourstore. Empty fields show no icon.
  • Borders has fields for Behance, Discord, Dribbble, Email, Phone, Facebook, Flickr, Instagram, Kickstarter, LinkedIn, Medium, Messenger, Pinterest, RSS, Snapchat, Telegram, TikTok, Vimeo, WhatsApp, YouTube and X (Twitter).
  • Email takes a mailto: link (mailto:hello@yourstore.com) and Phone a tel: link (tel:123456789).

The two Custom link groups add networks that have no field of their own.

  • Icon is the icon image: a transparent PNG of 72 x 72 px.
  • Link is the profile address.
  • Label names the network. It is the link text when the footer's Social links block has Hide icons on, and the icon's alternative text for screen readers.

Where do the social icons show?

In the Social links block of the Footer group (as icons, or as text links with the network names when Hide icons is on) and in the Navigation drawer section when Show social links is on. Both read the links from this page, so you set them once.

Why does a social icon not show?

The field for that network is empty, or the place where you expect it has its social links turned off. Check the address here, then the Social links block in the footer or Show social links in the navigation drawer.
