Currency format theme settings

The Currency format theme setting of Borders adds the currency code after prices, for example $1.00 USD, across the store.

Applies to: Borders 3.1.0 and later. Added in: Borders 1.3.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Borders 3.1.0.

The Currency format theme setting adds the currency code after every price in the store, for example "$1.00 USD" instead of "$1.00". Use it when you sell in several currencies that share a symbol, such as US, Canadian and Australian dollars.

Where to find it: Theme settings → Currency format

Currency codes

  • Show currency codes adds the code of the customer's current currency after prices on product cards, the product page, Featured product, hotspots, filters, the cart and discount badges.
  • The code follows the currency the customer shops in, so it changes with the country selector.

Where do I change the currency itself?

In Shopify admin, not in the theme. Your store currency is set in Shopify admin → Settings → General, and the currencies for other countries in Shopify admin → Settings → Markets. The price format (symbol, decimals) is in Settings → General → Store currency → Change formatting.

Why does the checkout show prices without the code?

The checkout belongs to Shopify, not to Borders. Show currency codes changes the prices in the theme only. Shopify sets the checkout's price format.
