Borders theme settings

The Borders theme settings set the border width and radius of cards, buttons and form fields in Local.

Applies to: Local 4.2.1 and later. Added in: Local 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Local 4.2.1.

The Borders settings set the thickness and the corner rounding of three kinds of elements: cards, buttons and form fields. They apply to the whole store.

Where to find it: Theme settings → Borders

Cards

Cards are the boxes that hold content: product cards in grids, promotion cards, rich text cards and similar.

  • Width sets the border thickness, from 0 to 10 px. Set it to 0 for cards without a border.
  • Radius sets the corner rounding, from 0 (square) to 30 px. On phones, a radius above 8 px is halved (never below 8 px), so cards keep their shape on small screens.

The border color is in Theme settings → Colors → Cards → Border.

Buttons

  • Width sets the border thickness of buttons, from 1 to 4 px. The outline button style shows it most.
  • Radius sets the corner rounding of buttons, from 0 (square) to 30 px (pill shaped).

Forms

  • Width sets the border thickness of input fields, such as the newsletter, search and contact form fields, from 1 to 4 px.
  • Radius sets their corner rounding, from 0 to 30 px.

Can I hide the card borders in one section only?

Yes. Most sections with cards have a Custom card design group with Hide border (and Hide shadow). Turn it on in that section and the cards of that section show no border; the rest of the store keeps the Theme settings border. Product cards have the same options in Theme settings → Product card → Custom card design. See General section styling.

Why do the flex sections have no corner radius setting?

Because they use the card radius from this page. Flex slideshow, Flex grid and Flex cards round their corners with Theme settings → Borders → Cards → Radius. See Flex sections.
