Favicon theme settings

Applies to: Local 4.2.1 and later. Added in: Local 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Local 4.2.1.

The favicon is the small icon in the browser tab, in bookmarks and in the browser history. Local uses the same favicon on every page, including the password and gift card pages.

• Favicon image sets the icon. Upload a square PNG image; Local serves it at 48 x 48 px.
• Use a simple shape, such as your logo mark, on a transparent or plain background. Fine details disappear at this size.

Why does my new favicon not show?Copy Anchor Link

Because browsers keep the old favicon for a while. Select Save in the theme editor, then open your store in a private window or clear the browser cache. Search engines update the favicon in their results on their own schedule.
