Customer account pages

The classic customer account pages of Borders (login, register, account, orders, addresses) and how they relate to Shopify's new customer accounts.

Applies to: Borders 3.1.0 and later. Added in: Borders 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Borders 3.1.0.

The customer account pages let customers sign in, register and see their orders and addresses. Borders has templates for Shopify's classic customer accounts; the sections on them have no settings.

Where to find it: Online Store → Themes → Customize, the customer account templates in the page picker (Login page, Register page, Account page, Order page, Addresses, Activate account page, Reset password).

Classic and new customer accounts

  • Shopify has two kinds of customer accounts. You choose one in Shopify admin → Settings → Customer accounts.
  • With the new customer accounts, the sign-in, orders and profile pages are hosted by Shopify, not by the theme. The Borders account templates are then not used.
  • With classic customer accounts, Borders shows the login, register, account, order, addresses, activation and password reset pages from its own templates.
  • The account button in the header opens Shopify's account panel. Turn it on with Show account in the Header section.

Colors of account pages

The account pages have no color scheme setting of their own. They use Theme settings → Colors → Default color scheme. The page titles follow Page titles theme settings.

Why does the account button not show in the header?

Show account is off in the Header section, or customer accounts are turned off in Shopify admin → Settings → Customer accounts. Turn on both.
