Page
The Page template shows a regular page in Highlight; the bundled story, FAQ and gallery page templates add sections around it.
Applies to: Highlight 4.1.0 and later. Added in: Highlight 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Highlight 4.1.0.
The Page template shows a regular page of your store, such as About us or Shipping: the page title as the heading and the content you wrote in Shopify admin. Highlight also bundles page templates that add sections around the content, for a story, an FAQ or a gallery page.
Where to find it: Online Store → Themes → Customize → choose Pages → Default page in the page menu at the top → Main page section.
Main page
The Main page section shows the page title and the page content from Shopify admin → Online Store → Pages. You edit the text there, not in the theme editor.
- Disable bottom margin for this section removes the space under the title. It is useful when you use the section only as a title, for a page with no content of its own and sections below. It applies only when the page content is empty.
- Reduce the margin between all sections halves the space between all the sections of the page, so they sit closer together.
Bundled page templates
| Template | Sections | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| page (Default page) | Main page | Regular text pages |
| page.story | Main page, Heading, Image, Rich text, Image with text (2), Heading, Video: popup, Products slider | An about us or brand story page |
| page.faq | Main page, Toggles with icons | Questions and answers |
| page.gallery | Main page, Gallery | A lookbook or image gallery |
| page.contact | Contact Form | A contact page; see Contact page |
Every page that uses a template shows the same sections. The page's own title and content still differ from page to page.
Using a bundled page template
Create or open the page
In Shopify admin → Online Store → Pages, create a page or open an existing one, and write its title and content.
Choose the template
Under Theme template, choose story, faq, gallery or contact, then save the page.
Edit the sections
In the theme editor, choose Pages in the page menu at the top, then the template (for example faq). Edit, add or remove its sections.
Preview with your page
Use the preview selector in the theme editor to see the template with your page's title and content.
Changes to the sections of a template apply to every page that uses it. For a page that needs different sections, create a new template in the theme editor (Pages → Create template) and assign it to that page only.
Why is there a gap under my page title?
The page has no content, so the Main page section is only a title with its normal bottom margin. Turn on Disable bottom margin for this section to bring the next section closer.
All Page settings
Every setting, with its type and default.
The same section is also on the alternate templates Pages → faq, Pages → gallery, Pages → story.
Disable bottom margin for this section (checkbox, default: off): Removes the space under the page title. Applies only when the page has no content of its own.
Reduce the margin between all sections (checkbox, default: off): Halves the space between all the sections of the page.
