Collections list page
The Collections list page template shows all your collections, or the ones you pick, as image cards with text in Highlight.
Applies to: Highlight 4.1.0 and later. Added in: Highlight 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Highlight 4.1.0.
The Collections list page template is the page at /collections of your store. It shows all your collections, or the ones you pick, as large image cards with the collection title on top.
Where to find it: Online Store → Themes → Customize → choose Collections list in the page menu at the top → Collections list section.
Cards
The page title is "Collections". Below it, the collections show two per row, each as its image with the title on it.
- Text alignment places the title (and button) in one of nine positions on the image. Default: Left bottom.
- Custom text color colors the titles and buttons. Leave it empty to use the store text color.
- Background overlay lays a color over every image, so the titles stay readable. Use a color with some transparency.
- Show button adds a "Shop now" button under each title. Default: on. Turn it off to make the whole card the link instead.
Collections
- Select collections to show is All by default: every collection of your store, except the home page collection (
frontpage). - Sort collections by: orders them alphabetically, by date or by product count. Sorting only applies when All is selected.
- Choose Selected to show only the collections you add as Collection blocks, in the order of the blocks.
Blocks
Collection
Used only when Select collections to show is Selected. Add one block per collection.
- Collection picks the collection.
- Image replaces the collection's own image on this page. Leave it empty to use the image set in Shopify admin → Products → Collections.
How do I show only some collections?
Set Select collections to show to Selected, then select Add block → Collection once for each collection you want, and drag the blocks into order. The sort setting is ignored in this mode.
Why does a collection show a placeholder instead of an image?
The collection has no image in Shopify admin, and its Collection block (with Selected) has no Image. Upload a collection image in Shopify admin → Products → Collections, or add an image in the block.
All Collections list page settings
Every setting, with its type and default.
Accepts these blocks: Collection.
Text alignment (dropdown, default: Left bottom): Places the collection title and button in one of nine positions on each image. Options: Left top, Center top, Right top, Left middle, Center middle, Right middle, Left bottom, Center bottom, Right bottom.
Custom text color (color): Sets the color of the titles and buttons. Empty uses the store text color.
Background overlay (color): Lays a color over every collection image to keep the titles readable. Use a color with transparency.
Show button (checkbox, default: on): Shows a Shop now button under each title. Off, the whole card is the link.

Where to find it: Collections list → Collections list → Collections
All of your collections are listed by default. To customize your list, choose 'Selected' and add collections.
Select collections to show (radio buttons, default: All): Shows every collection except the home page collection (All), or only the collections added as Collection blocks, in their order (Selected) Options: All, Selected.
Sort collections by: (dropdown, default: Alphabetically, A-Z): Sets the order of the collections when Select collections to show is All. Options: Alphabetically, A-Z, Alphabetically, Z-A, Date, new to old, Date, old to new, Product count, high to low, Product count, low to high.
Collection block
Where to find it: Collections list → Collections list → Add block → Collection
Collection (collection picker): Sets the collection shown by this block. Used only when Select collections to show is Selected.
Image (image): Replaces the collection's own image on this page. Used only when Select collections to show is Selected.
