Article page

The Article page template shows one blog post in Highlight, with featured image, date, author, comments count, share buttons and tags.

Applies to: Highlight 4.1.0 and later. Added in: Highlight 1.0.0. Last checked: 2026-10-13 against Highlight 4.1.0.

The Article page template shows one blog post: its featured image, title, date, author and comment count at the top, the article text below, then share buttons, tags, links to the previous and next post, and the comments when the blog allows them.

Where to find it: Online Store → Themes → Customize → choose Blog posts → Default blog post in the page menu at the top → Article page section.

Article header

  • Show featured image shows the article's featured image, cropped to 4:3, next to the title. Default: on. Without it, the title uses the full width.
  • Show date shows the publishing date. Default: on.
  • Show author shows "By" and the author's name. Default: on.
  • Show comments number shows the number of comments, linked to the comments. Default: off. It shows only when the blog accepts comments.

Blocks

The blocks show under the article text, in their order. Each can be added once. The template starts with Social share buttons and Adjacent posts links.

Social share buttons

Shows links to share the article on Facebook, X (Twitter) and Pinterest.

Shows links to the previous and the next article of the blog, when there is one.

Article tags

Shows the article's tags. Each tag links to the blog filtered by that tag.

How do I turn on comments?

Comments are a Shopify blog setting, not a theme setting. Open Shopify admin → Content → Blog posts → Manage blogs, select the blog and choose whether comments are allowed. When they are, Highlight shows the comments and a comment form under the article.

Why do my article tags not show?

The template has no Article tags block, which is the default. Select Add block → Article tags in the Article page section. Articles without tags show nothing.
